With his father in the RAF, Dominic lived in many different places as a child. But wherever they were,
there were always great house parties, where friends would enjoy records from the likes of Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, Elvis Presley, Louis Prima and Frank Sinatra. Dominic was allowed to stay up late if he changed the records on the record player. So that was where Dominic’s love for music of that type originated.
From a young age, Dominic knew he wanted to be a musician and at the tender age of 15 put together his first band – a rockabilly band called Rocking Red Roosters – playing local gigs in and around
Manchester where Dominic was living at the time. He had various ‘day’ jobs but music was always his real passion.
In his early twenties, Dominic decided to move to Australia where he met some other musicians with the same passion for music and formed a band, eventually known as Dominic Halpin & The Suspects, who became well respected throughout the Sydney area, becoming regular entertainers at the Sydney Harbour Casino.
In 2005, Dominic returned to the UK – back to the Manchester area – and met up with friend and saxophone player Nigel McGill. Between them, they put together swing band Dominic Halpin & The Honey B’s. Since bursting onto the scene, Dominic Halpin & The Honey B’s have established themselves as one of the most in-demand acts in the UK. With an impressive list of show dates - from Blenheim Palace to a headline show at the Abu Dhabi International Jazz Festival - and a client list including Simon Cowell, Elle McPherson and The Savoy, London, their energetic floor show and swingin’ rhythms have entertained audiences not only throughout the UK, but also all over the world.
As well as performing, Dominic has written many songs and musical pieces, some of which have been used in foreign media. In 2007, his music featured on the Hollywood film Dorm Daze II and has also appeared in several American television series, including Brothers and Sisters and MTV’s hit show Runs House. Dominic’s version of ‘Sway’ was recently used in a new Russian film ‘Hitler Kaput’ and is also
available on the soundtrack.
Dominic’s creativity is not limited to writing songs. He has produced recordings and videos for many local artists. For one of his self-penned songs – ‘Senor Blue’ – Dominic wrote, directed, produced and edited the video which has scored many hits on You Tube. He has also undertaken projects to produce videos for a number of corporations.

each time I bring you a kiss
I hear music divine.

Dearest one, if you should leave me
then each little dream will take wings

The song "Besame Mucho" by Dominic Halpin is a romantic love song about the intensity of love and the fear of losing it. The lyrics express the desire to be kissed passionately and frequently, as each kiss brings divine music to the ears. The singer's plea for his lover to stay with him forever is emphasized in the line "say that you'll always be mine". He fears that if his lover were to leave, all his little dreams would take wings and his life would be through. However, the joy of holding his lover close and whispering his adoration is a new sensation that he never knew before. The song ends with the plea to love him forever and make all his dreams come true.
The melody of "Besame Mucho" is a famous Spanish bolero that was written by Consuelo Velázquez in 1940, and it became a popular song in Latin America and around the world. The lyrics were written in Spanish, but due to its popularity, it has been translated into many languages, and the English version is one of the most recognizable. The song has been covered by many artists over the years, including Nat King Cole, The Beatles, and Andrea Bocelli.
