(shoo-bop, shoo-bop, my baby)
(shoo-bop, shoo-bop)

Hello, stranger
(ooh) It seems so good to see you back again
How long has it been?
(ooh, seems like a mighty long time)
(shoo-bop, shoo-bop, my baby, ooh)
It seems like a mighty long time

Oh-uh-oh, I my, my, my, m
I'm so glad
You stopped by to say "hello" to me
Remember that's the way it used to be
Ooh, it seems like a mighty long time
(shoo-bop, shoo-bop, my baby, ooh)

Oh-uh-oh
I'm so glad you're here again
Oh-uh-oh
Shoo-bop, shoo-bop, my baby
Shoo-bop, shoo-bop, my baby

Oh-ahh-uh-oh
If you're not gonna stay
(ooh) Please don't treat me like you did before
Because I still love you so a-a-although
It seems like a mighty long time
Shoo-bop, shoo-bop, my baby, ooh
It seems like a mighty long time

Oh-uh-oh, I my, my, my, my

I'm so happy that you're here again
(shoo-bop, shoo-bop, my baby)

Overall Meaning

The song "Stranger" by the vocal group The Four Seasons talks about running into an old flame or lover who has been away for a long time. The singer is clearly happy to see this person again, and they reminisce about how things used to be between them, how good it feels to see each other again, and how it seems like it's been a long time. However, there's a sense of caution in the lyrics too - the singer wants this person to stay, but doesn't want to be treated the way they have been treated before. They still love this person, and seeing them brings up a lot of feelings and memories.

The lyrics have a classic doo-wop feel to them, with the repetitive "shoo-bop, shoo-bop" providing a catchy rhythm and the melody full of harmonies - both hallmarks of the genre. You can hear the longing in the lead singer's voice as he sings about the person who has returned, even as he expresses concern over the relationship's future. The song captures the tension that comes with seeing someone you used to be in love with, especially if it's been a long time since you've seen each other.

Interestingly, "Stranger" was actually a B-side track to The Four Seasons' single "Dawn (Go Away)" which reached Number 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1964, while "Stranger" became a hit in its own right, despite being the lesser known of the two tracks. Part of this can be attributed to the popularity of The Four Seasons themselves - the group was at the height of its fame in the mid-1960s, with a string of hits under their belt.

my theory has come so far...😈

At the season 3 ending I refused to believe Hopper was dead. So I looked for a way he could've survived.
1. Hopper continued to look back and forth between Joyce and the portal, meaning he might've been thinking to escape through the portal.
2. Hoppers remains weren't seen when Joyce went to check.
3. In the credit scene of the season 3 finale, the russian guard points at the cell and says: "No, not the American." which is what Grigori called Hopper.
4. The Russians have a demogorgon AND Hopper, which leads me to believe that while in the upside down, the russians found Hopper while looking for the demogorgon. Which would also explain why the russians have Hopper and the Demogorgon.

I know its already confirmed that Hopper is alive (obviously), but this was just my thought process before it was revealed.
