Is there some higher power
Is there coincidence
Is there a fate
Can this be true
Can this be meant to happen
Give me a sign and I will follow
Give me a sign
Show me the right way
Point in the right direction
What is crossing your mind
Do you still have to find
An answer to all these ancient questions
What do you hope to find
Something well worth to hide
Like answers to all these ancient questions
Is there an afterlife
Are we reborn
And our loved ones
We need we to mourn
We gonna meet again
A little later then
So show some patience
And a little faith
Give me a sign
Could you please lead me
Show me the right way
Point in the right direction
What is crossing your mind
Do you still have to find
An answer to all these ancient questions
What do you hope to find
Something well worth to hide
Like answers to all these ancient questions
What is crossing your mind
Do you still have to find
An answer to all these ancient questions
What do you hope to find
Something well worth to hide
Like answers to all these ancient questions
In the opening lyrics of Friendship's song "Give Me More," the singer demands clarification on a situation that may have given them doubts. The singer is wary of the words that someone just spoke to them and asked to repeat it to ensure they understood it right. The singer expresses their ability to differentiate lies from the truth and implies the listeners must do better than coming up with deceptive lines. The second verse details an instance of lateness and excuses. The singer sarcastically questions the one that's tardy on their reasons, throwing back their reasoning skills. When confronted about the smell of alcohol, the latecomer denies and tries to pin it on a men's aftershave. The final verse raises the issue of missing money, used to pay rent, the money has gone missing, and the singer challenges the other party to explain where it went.
The song portrays a sassy and bold persona who demands the truth from their friend/partner. The repetitive chorus of "Would you run that by me one more time?" accentuates the singer's increasing frustration, skepticism, and disbelief. The song's theme revolves around honesty and communication and making sure someone's words and actions align. The song calls for transparency and an end to deception.
