I Will
i-94 Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You're in my mind now
No doubt that I will always be your friend
Your pictures here, with me, again
Slow days, so slowly they start to feel
They never end here
Your face, smiling on a ferris wheel
Photograph, I can't get all the pieces
And I don't know how I will
I am falling fast to find all the reasons
But I don't know how and I don't know where
Airplanes can take you back to love
Far in the sky, yeah
And I need to fly to you from high above
It's in your eyes, inside this
I won't ever be the same, know my name
I gotta find all of the people left behind
The song "I Will" by i-94 is a heartfelt ode to a past romance that still lingers in the singer's thoughts. The lyrics beautifully convey the longing and nostalgia that comes with reminiscing about a lost love. The first verse sets the tone, with the singer imploring their muse to sing out so they can hear them once again. The lines, "You're in my mind now, no doubt that I will always be your friend", suggest that even though the relationship may have ended, the singer still holds a deep affection for their former partner. The second verse is similarly poignant, with the image of a photograph serving as a metaphor for the fragmented memories of a past relationship that the singer desperately wants to piece together. The lines "I am falling fast to find all the reasons, but I don't know how and I don't know where" convey both the urgency and the confusion that come with trying to make sense of a relationship that has ended. The final verse suggests that the singer is trying to move on from the past, but is struggling to do so. The lines "I won't ever be the same, know my name, I gotta find all of the people left behind" suggest a desire to reinvent oneself after a significant relationship has ended, but also an acknowledgement that it is difficult to do so without fully understanding and coming to terms with what went wrong in the past.
