Let me tell you something. My wife never understood why I loved the Rocky movies. She always thought they were just fight movies and she never wanted to watch them with me. One day she said to me, "Okay, let's see Rocky." That weekend, after seeing the first movie, and because she asked me to, we watched the entire Rocky saga. It was really a very intense weekend. She suffered, cried with emotion, and finally became a fan of Rocky like me. True story.

My husband is proud to be going through that with me right now. I always thought the same thing about them just being "fight movies" because it was on in the background at my house growing up in the 80's. I never paid it much attention. But the Creed movies got me into really WATCHING the Rocky movies for the first time recently. I absolutely LOVE them now.

Since I got into reaction vids I've only focussed on stuff I know well or enjoy. Kinda broke that rule to watch your Rocky 1 reaction becuase it was a film I've half-seen decades ago and keep meaning to watch properly one day. Seeing the films like this and getting that they aren't what I thought is great. The editing and your reactions to both (so far) are amazing and really carry the viewer along with you. A fantastic reaction to a wonderful movie.

Rocky films are my favourite movies, I had a breakdown when I was 12 yrs old in the 80s & was the kid who was bullied for being different, having a mental illness back then I was treated appallingly, the Rocky films helped me get through some harsh times & a character I could look up be inspired & relate to.

I adore Sylvester Stallone he's a great actot, writer, director & gives these movies heart.

Highly recommend Rocky 3 & 4 both different in tone but progress the characters & relationships.

The reason this is the best channel is because she’s pure in heart. She’s basically the perfect audience, she completely surrenders to the story and loses herself in it. This reaction and others like it are why I’m really looking forward to her seeing Field of Dreams, I think that one’s gonna rock her world.

I remember, when I was in my 20s, living in a neighborhood with children there. I would run 3 miles every day. The children in the neighborhood would come in behind me toward the end and run with me. It made me feel like the scene of Rocky running after Adrian told him to "WIN." That feeling made me feel like a winner because I felt like I was giving the children a feeling of being winners! :)

You should watch “First Blood” the first Rambo film. His acting is supreme in that film. Same with the movie “Cop Land”. His acting in that one is way different, he even gained like 40 pounds for the role. He even talks more clearly and different in that film. It’s got Robert DeNiro and other greats in it too.

@Feel the Bern Rambo First Blood was great, with the exception of the ending that they changed from the book - they did that for sequel $$$. They shouldn't have because all the rest of the Rambo movies were garbage - they were great back in the day during the COLD WAR, but I doubt I'll ever re-watch a Rambo II or higher movie ever again, and I rewatch a lot of movies.

Part of what makes this such a great story is that there are things anyone can relate to. Everyone has hopes and dreams, it's part of what makes us human. And doubts. And fears. You see that happen with Rocky in this and the films that follow. Actually, you see that side of Apollo, too, for that matter. He has self doubts that haunt him as well. It's an interesting character development for both fighters. And that's what they are, fighters - not only in the ring, but in life.

I’m from Philly. This inspired me to finally get around to watching Rocky II.

You really should go see the Rocky steps at the art museum. Hell of a view. You can even compare today’s skyline w/ the Rocky skyline. Great way to see how Philly has continued to evolve.

@Dan Siegel I would recommend giving Creed, at least the first one, a shot. I remember Stallone was really moved by Ryan Coogler’s script. In many ways it brings Rocky back truer to his original roots while refreshing the story and taking it in a new direction. The second Creed movie was not my favorite so I would say its a pass. They tried to retread old ground with Rocky/Drago but it didn’t hit for me like the first.

Rocky I-III were incredible, but as Stallone didn't get many serious offers outside of this and the Rambo series, he milked it until dry. He attempted to cross over into light Comedy and it failed miserably. The story of his rival at the time, Arnold S., tricking him into Throw Mama From the Train is a gem. I never even bothered watching Rocky V, I heard it was so bad. I don't even want to know about the Creed films...just because I can't bother with him trying to recover his previous disasters. But, Rocky I-III are complete awesomeness, and the fact that he wrote them makes him better than Arnold in my book (but also a 1 hit/theme wonder)

I've watched over 100 times and at 52 it's still my favorite movie. 3 and 4 are great also l, five in my opinion is just so so and then 6 is awesome and comes full circle. Creed which stars Micheal B. Jordan in a spinoff is also a must watch with Stallone as just a big a part of the movie as Jordan is. C, I'm so happy that your generation is appreciating the movie making of my generation. On the top level is the rematch, but the fact you can see the sub level of love in this movie makes me believe that in the age of instant gratification does not provide the satisfaction of dedication. True virtues is what counts. To love, and to be loved is something we can all learn from. Your priceless expressions give me hope that peeps (of the new gen) can still see that. Cassie, I'm looking forward to your reaction to Rocky III as I personally think it is the best of the series and that is saying alot as there are currently 8 movies with one (Creed 3) coming next year. Rocky 1-5, Rocky Balboa (6) and 2 Creed films released so far. And if you haven't figured it out yet, Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" is in Rocky III!

The first two Rocky movies came out when I was a kid and they were my favorite movies. I connected so much with them as I was growing up during that time in a hard city like Philly and we were very poor, my mother's name was Adrienne as well and I was fighting a muscle disease as a kid and pushing to do the things other kids could do and these movies inspired me to reach that goal. I loved the first two Rocky movies and the Creed movies, those I connected with personally as well because of situations that were like mine but I wasn't crazy about the other Rocky movies. Rocky Balboa had some really heart felt moments but, Rocky III, IV and V just didn't have the inspiration the first two movies had.

Loved loved loved this! I grew up in South Jersey just across the Delaware River from Philly born in '68. So I just happened to be the right age and I am one of those kids chasing Rocky, specifically the fountain scene which we had to do twice, somebody forgot to turn it on. It was advertised on the radio, my mother loaded up the family station wagon (yes one with wood panels) with me and my friends. Still pissed we left before the final sprint down the Ben Franklin Pkwy and up the steps, but still a fantastic memory!

Cassie, your reaction to Rocky II was so innocent and pure and loving that it made me love Rocky again. These movies touch something inside and they make me feel inspired. When Rocky leans in close after Adrian comes out of her coma, and she says "There's one thing I want you to do for me....Win! Win!" I teared up. This is the first Rocky film that I saw in the theater and I've seen every one following. I know Rock has a hard head so I don't get too concerned that Apollo keeps pounding on it but your perspective of finding it hard to watch is great. I hope you find it within yourself to continue with the Rocky saga, after all the next one will give you "Eye of the Tiger!"

The first two movies belong with each other, after those two you're in the 1980s and it shows. The tone of the third, and certainly the fourth (which is the one most people know) is totally different. The Rocky saga only returns to the tone of the the first two movies in 2006 with the sixth movie Rocky Balboa. That movie also has many references to the very first movie.

you touched on one thing that has always been an important part of this movie for me and that is that Rocky is genuinely GOOD man and very unselfish. the part where he asks the priest to bless him so that if he loses he won't get hurt to bad always struck me as very special because most people would ask to be blessed with a win but for Rocky family is always more important than winning , being true to himself is what drives him

love the rocky movies, i have all the DVD's including the spin offs Creed 1 and 2, the music CD's, and i even have my phone's ringtone set to Eye of the Tiger lol

I don't really follow any "reactors", but you have such a welcoming attitude about your videos, and no poses or pretensions, other than enjoying a nice movie. So you are the only movie "reactor" I've ever followed. I hope you channel keeps growing.

Also, I think it's funny that Rocky did take Adrian to the Zoo... just like the Goon from the first movie told him to. I have to admit I laughed out loud at that scene.

This movie is a good example of why you are one of the best movie reviewers, if not the best. You get 100 percent invested in the story and the relationships, and your emotions are real and not "dramatized". I assume that the dogs name "Butkus" was because he was probably named for Dick Butkus, a rough and tumble professional football player from the 1960s.

Rocky II is the "Rocky" movie that I saw first, and will always be my favorite. This "simple" movie has so many emotions packed into it, and is so well scripted, and so well acted out. A real MASTERPIECE! Perhaps my favorite movie of all time.
I enjoyed watching the popcorn-in-bed lady's reaction to various scenes. I only wish I could have seen her full, unedited reaction to hearing his poem in the hospital at 22:40. I think I tear up more each time I see that scene, as it is both innocent and powerful. As she said "He wrote her a poem?!!!!" Yes he did! What an amazing, perfect script! People will still be watching this movie in 100 years!

Awesome reaction video Cassie! I thoroughly enjoyed watching your reaction to Rocky ll, and I think this is your best reaction video yet! It's definitely my favorite one of yours. After watching your reaction to Rocky l, I had a feeling that you were really going to like Rocky ll. It probably has the best ending of all the Rocky movies, so I totally understand if you want to stop here and not watch the other films. That being said, as a fan of your channel and a long-time fan of the Rocky franchise, I really hope that you eventually watch the other films in the series. I won't give anything away from the plots, but if you do watch Rocky lll (you'll finally get to hear Eye of the Tiger) and Rocky lV (which has by far the best soundtrack of all the Rocky movies) you'll likely change your mind about how you feel about Apollo Creed. Rocky V is not very good and you're not missing out on anything if you skip it (Sylvester Stallone himself doesn't like Rocky V because he was never happy with the finish product, which is why he went back years later and made Rocky Balboa). Rocky Balboa (aka Rocky Vl) is very good, and it's very heartwarming like Rocky l and Rocky ll.

First things first: You, young lady, could NEVER be overly dramatic!!! I was a twenty something year old man and this movie stirred something in me. Manly pride, true love, achieving the "impossible". If anyone can attain just ONE of these, they're WAY ahead in the game.
