On June 13, 2013, Jimin made his debut as a member of BTS with the release of the single "No More Dream". In the group, Jimin holds the position of lead vocalist and main dancer. Under BTS, he has released three solo songs: "Lie", "Intro: Serendipity", and "Filter".
As a solo artist, Jimin has released two self-produced songs: "Promise" in 2018, "Christmas Love" in 2020 and his 2022 latest single OST "With You" in collaboration with Ha Sung Woon for 'Our Blues' - a romantic slice-of-life Korean drama. On 13th January 2023, Jimin released VIBE as a featuring artist in a collaboration with Taeyang of BIGBANG; he was also involved in the songwriting and composing for the same.
Jimin studied contemporary dance at Busan High School of Arts and was a top student in the modern dance department. After a teacher suggested he audition with an entertainment company, it led him to Big Hit Entertainment. Once he passed the auditions in 2012, he transferred to Korean Arts High School, graduating in 2014.
Jimin graduated from Global Cyber University in August 2020, with a major in Broadcasting and Entertainment. As of 2021, he is enrolled at Hanyang Cyber University, pursuing a Master of Business Administration in Advertising and Media.
In 2019, he received a plaque of appreciation from the Cultural Conservation Society for performing Buchaechum, a traditional Korean fan dance, during the 2018 Melon Music Awards and helping spread the dance outside of Korea. As of 2021, Jimin has topped the brand reputation ranking for individual boy group idols for 27 consecutive months.
Album released on March 24, 2023, through Big Hit Music, a primarily a pop, hip hop, and R&B record, with Pdogg, Ghstloop, and Evan responsible for production Jimin released studio album FACE (released on March 24, 2023)
Comprising five songs, all co-written by Jimin, and one instrumental, the album was heavily inspired by the emotional impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Jimin as a person and performer and addresses "themes of loneliness, wrestling with oneself, and finding freedom".
Two singles were released in support of Face: the lead single Track page: Set Me Free Pt. 2 and the US Billboard Hot 100 number-one single "Like Crazy”.

The lyrics of Jimin's song Promise speak to the difficulties of love and relationships. It begins with the lines "Alone, I am hesitant. My thoughts grow larger. When did you start hurting me?" Jimin is expressing his pain and confusion surrounding the breakdown of his relationship. He's wondering when it all began to sour, and why he feels so much sadness now.
The chorus of the song is focused on Jimin's desire to see his partner happy. He sings "I want you to be your light, baby. You should be your light. No more pain. You can smile." He's expressing a desire for his partner to heal and find happiness on their own, even if it means they will ultimately drift apart. Despite his pain, Jimin still wants the best for his partner.
The final verse of the song brings a sense of hope. Jimin sings, "Promise me now, oh. How many times a day, oh. Even if you feel alone, oh. Don't leave me, oh." He's asking his partner to make a commitment to him, promising that they will stick together no matter what. @Savager He once said that the pronoun ''you'' in Promise was him. I forgot where he said it from though but you can search it up. This was also released when he was getting a lot of hate and did extreme dieting because of hard he is on himself.
