Thank you for these tips, though for the second one, it's rather just easy to right click "Multimedia Class Scheduler" and press Restart, it's gonna restart all your audios, but then it will also clear them. Very helpful though!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! my computer was saying that I had another device connected so my speakers were already in use. That wasnt true! I couldnt find any other update when using method 1, so I, after some hesitation, uninstalled, and shut down the computer, and then it worked immediately with restarting. Im so happy and delighted and surprised!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a relief!!!!! Awesome that I could use the video with the subtitles and clear instructions on the video your a star!! xx

bruh its for windows 7 not everything is automated on old systems
if youdon t like having to do things yourself go get a MAC or upgrade to windows 10 with a million downloads to make everything easier for you

windows OS not being just a click of a button to do anything is usually the appeal.

Don't forget to check for a plug broken off inside a headphone/speaker jack!. Very common. Disables both input jacks & system speaker.

I have fixed this by going to services and Windows Audio service and just stopping it and restarting it (so no reboot). However today that didn't help. Rebooting always help, but it is annoying to have to do this. I didn't have to uninstall the driver in device manager, I just had to reboot.

THANK YOU! I had to go with the Method 2. Remote Procedure Call (RPC) was not started. But that didn't work. BUT! I set my audio to default on my "Speakers" and that did the trick, IT WORKED. I'm using a desktop Windows 7. Thank you times a billion! Life saver you are. Thanks for taking the time to show us this unknown procedure.
