A Mile In My Shoes
m-pact Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Equal rights, don't apply
Quata calls, aren't civil rights
Split the vote, split the state
Split the house, income rape
Doors are shut, need not apply
There's no one here to fight for my rights

Walk the straight line
Left then the right
I live the injusted
Of liberal insight

Motor vote, I say motorhead
I work a job, I don't lay in bed
Payed my dues, pay my way
I earned the right too have my say
I'm sick to death, of liberal views
The liberal fools are fucking you to

You'll know what I'm saying
When you walk in my shoes

Overall Meaning

The song "A Mile in My Shoes" by M-Pact tackles the issue of unequal rights and the current political climate. In the first verse, the lyrics talk about how equal rights don't apply to everyone, as quotas and civil rights aren't actually civil. The vote is split, the state is split, and even the house is affected by income rape. The doors are closed to some people, and there is no one to fight for their rights.

In the second verse, the lyrics urge people to walk the straight line, left and right. The singer has experienced injustice from the liberal perspective and thinks that the motor vote is more important. They work for their money and pay their way, so they have earned the right to have their say. The singer is tired of the liberal views and how they have screwed over the people who believe in them.

The underlying message of the song is that people need to be more empathetic towards each other's struggles. The lyric "You'll know what I'm saying/When you walk in my shoes" speaks to this. The song is also a call to action to have people wake up and face the reality of what's going on in society.
