I get satisfaction when the opps die
It makes me happy when the opps cry
I get satisfaction when the opps die
Yea
Want them bitches dead
We don't shoot at legs
Talkin all that gangsta shitBut Bitch we know you scared
I just made 10 k today
I'll put that on yo head
My bitch she say I'm toxic say I ain't got no feelings
Only if she really knew what I been dealing with
Niggas wanna hurt me
See me down on my dick
Choppa make em quarantine
That stick gone make em sick
Bitch
Junebug got that shit gone make em shit
Nigga what you eat don't make me shit
I know you got some sticks but bitch you been a bitch
Talkin' all that gangsta shit but you don't live that shit
Told her I can't be her friend unless it's benefits
Percocet make a nigga itch
Brand new tech
Make a nigga glitch
Blame the opps
They made my shooter rich
It makes me happy when the opps cry
I get satisfaction when the opps die
It makes me happy when the opps cry
I get satisfaction when the opps die
The lyrics to "When" by Ma are brutal and provocative, and require a closer look to understand their deeper meaning. At the heart of the song is the idea of violent retribution towards one's enemies, or "opps", in the parlance of Ma's world. The rapper takes satisfaction in seeing his enemies suffer and die, and doesn't shy away from describing his violent tendencies in graphic terms. But beyond the surface-level brutality of the lyrics, there are deeper themes at play that reveal the complicated motivations behind such extreme behavior.
On one level, the lyrics to "When" can be seen as a form of self-defense. Ma and his crew live in a dangerous world where they must be constantly aware of threats from rival gangs and other enemies. By striking preemptively and taking out their opponents before they can strike, they are able to protect themselves and maintain their dominance. But there is also a sense of pleasure that comes from taking out one's enemies, a thrill that Ma seems to revel in. This could be seen as a form of psychological warfare, as much as a physical one: Ma wants his enemies to know that he is willing to do whatever it takes to protect himself and his crew, and is not afraid to show his dark side.
At the same time, there is a sense of despair and hopelessness running through the lyrics to "When". Ma sings about the isolation he feels, both from his own emotions and from the world around him. He knows that his violent tendencies and his desire for revenge are unhealthy and will ultimately lead to his downfall. But he can't seem to help himself, and so he continues down a path of self-destruction. In this sense, the lyrics to "When" can be seen as a cry for help, a plea to be understood and accepted for who he is, flaws and all. It is a powerful, disturbing, and ultimately tragic portrait of a life lived on the edge.

In the early 2000s, I had all those "NOW this is what I call music" CDs and this was the most played song on all of them because I LOVED this song when I was a little kid haha. I think its the only song I've ever willingly danced to. But I forgot about it and I've been trying to find it for YEARS. I woke up this morning and randomly remembered the lyrics again and searched it, I'm so happy I finally found it 💛
