Jouno's family is from Brittany in the north-west of France. He studied in the Paris area to become a film director but after several years as movie sets professional, he started to write song scripts, reworking them many times at nights, with romantic music on his life and his passion for film. This is also expressed though the songs "quitte á me quitter", "Si le vous, vous plait", and "love later".
In 2015, Jouno released his first EP Ouverture, consisting of four titles and released by Sony Music. Then in 2016, Jouno released his first LP called Interieur nuit with eleven songs, and a 48-minute musical film. The film, directed by Romain Winkler, was based on an idea from Jouno, depicting his work as a film actor and director.
He was selected in 2017 by Fonds d'action et d'initiative rock (FAIR) as a new talent, and was able as in 2016 to perform a tour of France,[5] with Angelo Foley as director and Agnès Imbault as keyboard player.

qu'on dit qu'il n'y a qu'une issue
le pays où la terre finit
ne peut pas faire un bon début
Plutôt crever que construire
sur le terrain d'à côté
viser le mieux ou le moins pire
T'as eu le courage des marins
dans l'autre sens mais fallait bien
Exode rural 81
t'as jamais eu le rêve américain
suis le ressac et les embruns
Exode rural 81
Nourrir quelques regrets d'accord
Exode rural 81
t'as jamais eu le rêve américain
suis le ressac et les embruns
Exode rural 81
J'ai lu l'idée sur ton visage
rentrer très vite, même à la nage
y a rien ici qui te retienne
il est grand temps que tu reviennes
In "Exode 81," Marvin Jouno speaks to the pain and complexities of leaving home in search of a better life. The peninsula is designed in such a way that there is only one way out, and the country where the land ends can't make a good beginning. The song speaks to the desire to flee rather than build on the next-door property. It highlights the decision of choosing the better option, even if it's not the best.
The lyrics describe the courage of sailors who have sailed in the opposite direction, but who had to keep going despite the hardships to make a better life for themselves. The song's central message is about returning home after chasing a dream that wasn't fulfilled, as the singer recognizes that there's nothing holding him back from going back to where he came from.
In Exode 81, Marvin Jouno emphasizes themes of courage, escape, and homecoming, exhibiting a sensitivity and tenderness in his lyrics.
