Larme blanche
marvin jouno Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

J’aimerais tant rêver,
Etre prisonnier de l’oreiller.
Chuter, tomber puis me cogner,
Dans le cadre du lit, me réveiller ;

J’aimerais tant rester,
Etre passionné par ces contrées,
Lutter, y croire, ne pas connaitre la vérité ;
T’écrire cette lettre sans la gommer.
Ravir tes souvenirs puis m’effacer,
Teinter mes restes et leur fumée,
Essuyer ma peine sur le plancher.

Refrain

La tempe posée sur le palier,
Je vois les pieds du brancardier.
Une larme blanche fuit ma cornée.
J’entends pleurer…
J’entends parler, je suis cité.

Puis soudain comme une idée
Si je me tue. Votre monde n’existe plus.

Overall Meaning

In "Larme blanche," Marvin Jouno, the French singer-songwriter, sings about a desire to escape from reality and to stay lost in his dreams. The first verse describes the singer's wish to dream and stay in bed, feeling the coolness of his bare feet on the wooden floor as he wakes up. He longs to be immersed in these strange lands and experiences, to fight his battles without knowing the truth and to write to his beloved without erasing any words.

In the second verse, the mood shifts. The singer laments his current state of being, feeling so overwhelmed by his emotions that he wants to dissolve into nothingness. As the chorus begins, he hears the sounds of the outside world, and he recognizes that death could be the final solution to all his problems. The last line, "If I kill myself, your world won't exist," reinforces this feeling of isolation and despair.

The whole song seems to revolve around two themes: escape and suicide. The singer is lost in his dreams, and he wants to remain there, away from the pain of reality. However, he recognizes that existence is unbearable and that suicide represents a way out. The lyrics powerfully convey the tension between these two opposing forces - the desire to escape and the desire to die.
