At This Moment

What did you think
I would do at this moment
When you're standing before me
With tears in your eyes
Trying to tell me that you
Have found you another
And you just don't love me no more
And what did you think
I would say at this moment
When I'm faced with the knowledge
That you just don't love me
Did you think I would curse you
Or say things to hurt you
'Cause you just don't love me no more

Did you think I could hate you
Or raise my hands to you
Now, come on, you know me too well
How could I hurt you
When darlin' I love you
And you know, I'd would never,
No, no, no, no

What do you think
I would give at this moment
If you'd stay, I'd subtract
Twenty years from my life
I'd fall down on my knees
I'd kiss the ground that you walk on
If I could just hold you again

I'd fall down on my knees
Kiss the ground that you walk on, baby
If I could just hold you
Mmm
If I could just hold you
I would fall down
Down on my knees
Oh god please, let me hold you
Let me hold you
Again

I'm gonna miss you girl
I'm gonna miss you
I can see the tears in your eyes baby
I'm down, I'm down on my knees

What did you think I would do, baby
Did you think I would hurt you

Overall Meaning

In Michael Bublé's song "At This Moment," the singer expresses raw emotion and vulnerability to a past lover who has moved on with someone else. The lyrics show how he is standing in front of his former partner, who is revealing the news that she has found someone new and doesn't love the singer anymore. Throughout the song, Bublé asks her questions about what she thinks he would say or do, as he tries to process and come to terms with the reality that their relationship has ended.

The chorus of the song is particularly poignant as Bublé sings of falling down on his knees and kissing the ground that his former lover walks on if he could just hold her once again. The desperation and longing in his voice reveal how he still loves her despite the hurt and disappointment of being left behind.

Ultimately, the song is a powerful expression of heartbreak and the difficulty of letting go of someone who was once an integral part of one's life. It captures the universal experience of loss and the pain of moving on from a relationship that was once cherished and meaningful.

This has always been my favourite Buble song with you 'don't know me' a close second. How lovely that the the Hollywood cd has given us a live version. However 'Best of me' just has to be the best he has ever recorded. Tis truly beautiful.
