sea
mr.kap Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Entering the sunrise, lost in the horizon
A bitter light of sorrow, a better tomorrow
Voices start to vanish and it's all transparent
Waiting by the sea, thoughts of you and me
Creating a new self, one to be explored
Tells me you're not here, soon I will be bored
Sadly love hurts, I better leave it be
I wish I could be in that everlasting sea
Time is what you leave behind
In a life you'll never find

Time is what you leave behind
In a life you'll never find

Overall Meaning

In the first paragraph, the lyrics depict a person standing on the shores and watching the sunrise. They feel both a sense of being lost in the vastness of the horizon and a conflicting mixture of sorrow and hope for a better future. As the voices around them fade away, everything becomes transparent, leaving them alone with their thoughts by the sea. This momentary solitude allows them to reflect on the memories and connection they once shared with someone.

Moving into the second paragraph, the lyrics suggest a desire for personal growth and self-discovery. The person contemplates creating a new version of themselves, one that is yet to be explored, perhaps in an attempt to move on from the pain caused by the absence of the person they crave. However, the mention that the person is not here implies a longing for their presence, and hints at the inevitable boredom that may ensue without them.

The third paragraph speaks to the dark reality of love sometimes causing hurt. The person acknowledges this pain and contemplates leaving it behind, perhaps because they believe it is better to let go than to continue experiencing the hurt. They express a wish to be immersed in an everlasting sea, which can be interpreted as seeking solace in an eternal bliss that love has failed to provide.

The final paragraph echoes the theme of time and its significance in human experiences. The lyrics suggest that once time passes, it cannot be regained or relived. It signifies a lamentation that the life they long for, one where they find fulfillment and a true connection, may remain elusive. It conveys a feeling of longing for something that may never be attained, and the realization that these unfulfilled desires add to the overall melancholy conveyed in the song.

Considering you said you are someone that's only beat all bosses on Regular so far except for Saltbaker, I take it that you (relatively of course) are a bit newer to Cuphead and don't have like a LOT of experience. This is why I wanted to make it clear that this is a tier list for S Ranking each boss, which means beating the game to unlock S Rank and having the experience to S Rank these bosses. I don't mean to offend at all, really, but I truly do think once you become comfortable enough to beat all bosses on Regular relatively easily (so at least being able to beat a boss within a few tries regardless of HP left) that your opinions on Grim especially and Phantom Express will change for sure. I actually find it quite surprising that you find the 2nd phase of Grim presumably the hardest and harder than his 3rd or even first. I might need to replay Grim on Regular and repeat his 2nd phase because many people have stated that the way the clouds move in Expert make that phase easier, so that's something you could try as well.

I was actually quite surprised on your opinion about Phantom Express. When I first played this game, Phantom Express was quite a challenge to beat, which is why I made the assumption that you are a bit newer to Cuphead than maybe this tier lists like intended audience is for I guess? The thing with Phantom Express is that there are MANY tricks you can do in order to make each phase at least a bit easier. First phase, it's all about the Roundabout baby. You should try to jump and shoot backwards with Roundabout which will 9 out of 10 times destroy the eyes Blind Specter shoots, and of course parry the pink bricks/ingots that drop down. For the Second phase, try to stay in the middle of the stage in order to easily move the cart in order to not get hit by the hands, and like I mention in the video, you can always stand between the 2 hands slapping down in order to not take damage. I would also recommend you try to parry the pink ingots as quickly as possible to prevent them from cucking you and moving the cart while the Conductor attacks. The third phase is really easy mainly because even if you're on the side when one of the Lollipop Ghouls makes their attack, if you just stick to the wall of the side you're on you WON'T get hit. The 4th and final phase is the only one that could really trip me up at least because you really just gotta dodge everything and make sure to dodge the bone ring that the Head of the Train shoots out. That's what I have to say to make Phantom Express easier, and I would make sure to use Roundabout and Spread because Roundabout makes the first phase much easier and it's just a good weapon and Spread is very effective for all the other phases.

I'm quite sad you don't like Esther Winchester :(. I think it's a very flashy and cool boss fight, is fun to play, and is not a pushover. Also the music matches the boss fight very well.

I think Wally Warbles is pretty cool and a bit underrated, although he's not my favorite to fight and almost everyone agrees that he is a B*TCH to fight. Mortimer Freeze is definitely not something I want to fight again right now after the amount of time it took to S Rank it lol. Mortimer Freeze just gave me NO breaks and put every obstacle in the way to make S Ranking him very difficult. That could've just been me, but even without my possible bias the obstacles and requirements you have to meet in order to achieve the S Rank made him appropriate for being one of the hardest to S Rank or to do it consistently.

8 Ball is 8 Ball lol :)

So I replayed Grim and Regular and Expert and I can admit that the way the clouds move on Expert makes dealing with things slightly easier, although I found basically no difference in difficulty when it comes to the clouds movement during the second phase from Regular to Expert. If anything the Expert version of the second phase would be harder since the flames jump a LOT more while the flames on Regular don't jump up much at all. I just tend to always jump up and dash in the direction that would be the most safe, so maybe that's something you could try if you haven't already?

I did the same process on Phantom Express and omg idk why I haven't been using Converge because it is DEFINITELY the best weapon for the first phase hands down. You literally don't even need to move and you will ALWAYS destroy the eyeballs unless you're like jumping to parry the pink bricks. Speaking of which, the bricks are really the only thing that make Phantom Express more difficult than it should be. I personally brought Crackshot so I could preemptively shoot the pumpkins before they made it to the cart during like the second phase since that's where they are the most annoying in my opinion. I also typically used Crackshot for the last phase so I don't have to worry about aiming at the heart of the train and focus on just not getting hit. Another thing to consider is you can definitely take your time with each phase. The time requirement is almost if not ever the issue with Phantom Express so just make sure to keep your HP Bonus and not worth too much on getting a super high DPS (damage per second) unless you can.

We just have a difference of opinion on Esther, because I basically have the opposite opinion of you about her.

I replayed Wally on Regular and Expert, and I think he's fun to play for sure on Regular and is so much easier to beat and not get screwed on, but Wally on Expert almost reaches unfun territory, like really. Mortimer Freeze is definitely not hard to beat on Regular but I don't think he's that fun to play and it's a bit bland to play against, although I really like his music.

8 Ball :)

One notable thing about Grim Matchstick is that a number of people find him easier on expert than on normal due to the fact the clouds are going the opposite direction. This, surprisingly, makes a world of difference, especially for his second and third phase since you’re moving further away from his attacks rather than into them.

I think the hardest part of grim matchstick is definitely trying to get the parries since they only appear in the first phase

km

It's a lot easier on expert. Or i just got better during the time I beat the game and came back to him

kvj1989

Yeah on expert hes a cakewalk.

vi prego aiutatemi a riavere il mio canale youtube

@JJGB but they are easy to get (sorry but i'm very good at parrying)

BKetchup

Yeah, grim's one of the hardest for me on regular but the expert footage in this video looked really easy. I think it's because in the 3rd phase I have to split my attention between avoiding his attacks and actually shooting him (and chaser isn't an option because of the fireballs) and constantly change directions, while expert only has me facing one direction so I can do both at the same time more easily

A tip for anyone struggling to get parries in Moonshine Mob: Don’t worry about trying to get them in the first 3 phases at all, just try to do it as fast as possible. You then should have enough time to just wait for the snail to give you your parries as it’s super easy to dodge his projectiles
