Blurring the lines of distinction between sassy and spiritual, they forged their name, sound, and mission statement right in front of their fan base, rather than in the confines of a boardroom. Within months of coming together as a group, they were headlining concerts and finishing pre-production for their first full-length album with companion DVD. By the winter of 2006, in just five days, the entire tracking session for their debut CD/DVD "Roots Revolution" was completed. Striving for a timeless quality, the band recorded together live off the floor, sometimes capturing the essence of a song in just one take.
With their rootsy blend of funk, reggae and old school gospel, Newworldson challenges a culture that venerates American Idol and disposable music in general. Undaunted, these unlikely defenders of soul are gracefully walking the line that fractures people into demographics, with passion and integrity.
Now signed to InPop Records, with their latest album "Salvation Station" released February 2008, NWS enters a new chapter in their lives and their careers. Four sons of the New World and their story has just begun.

Total Eclipse
newworldson Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Crucified the chosen one
Dragged your name through the mud
Made the nations forget the blood
Devil's got a spell on the world today- oh yes he does
But don't nobody tell me - that's just the way it is
'cuz i don't believe in this total eclipse of the son
Fallen angel eclipsed the light
On his way down from heaven's heights
He built a kingdom of steel and gold
Of television and stolen souls
The lyrics of the song Total Eclipse by Newworldson talks about the power of evil that has taken over the world, represented by the fallen angel who has eclipsed the Son and crucified the chosen one. This imagery speaks to the corruption and manipulation that has taken place where people have forgotten about the holy blood that was shed to bring salvation. It is said that the devil has cast a spell on the world, making it seem like it’s just the way things are. However, the singer refuses to accept this truth because he does not believe in this total eclipse of the Son. He rejects the devil's influence and stands firm in his faith.
The second verse describes how the fallen angel has come down from heaven and has built his own kingdom, symbolized by steel and gold, representing the powerful and materialistic world. The use of television represents the media that has been manipulated to spread evil messages, and the stolen souls might represent the people who have been deceived into following false beliefs. In essence, the song is a powerful message of hope and faith that encourages people to stand against the powers of darkness and hold on to their faith.
