After leaving everyone and everything they knew behind on the west coast, the group set their sights on a new home: Music City, USA. Nashville wasn't supposed to be home, but what started as a few recording sessions with Grammy award-winning producer Freddy Wall soon turned into a period of self-discovery for the band. The result was a batch of songs stronger, more representative, and more, well, united than the group could have ever hoped for. Feeling connected to the culture and energy of the city, of the United decided to remain in Nashville and continued writing and recording new material.

As the band gears up to tour and finalizes their album plans throughout 2013, of the United is finally ready to unveil a taste of what they've been working on. Slated for self-release May 10, the group has selected “Set Me Free” to introduce themselves to the world. A soulful, up-tempo breakup song, “Set Me Free” showcases the band’s laid back nature and ear for complex arrangement.

Helmed by singer and primary songwriter Najib Saab, of the United stemmed from a previous project with band mates Matt Phillips (guitar) and Josh Kidd (drums). After life and circumstance brought Saab from San Diego to his native Beirut, Phillips and Kidd soon joined to pursue a business venture. There in Lebanon, the genesis of of the United began. After a detour back to California, where the trio recruited bassist and longtime friend Efrem Rubio, the band traded the Middle East for Music City. Settled in Nashville, of the United rounded out their lineup with Will Parker (keyboards) and joined forces with manager Ryan Williams, founder of Mad Thinker Media.

United by a sense of adventure. United by deep-rooted kinship. United by a desire to create something different. of the United has already been on a journey more career-affirming and personally-strengthening than most bands can hope to experience for years. With a burning desire to simply play music and tour the world, the band’s patience and hard work has set them up to approach the next stage of their career with a passion and professional attitude.
