Flares Pt. 3
port-royal Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
The lyrics of port-royal's song "Flares Pt. 3" reference the Biblical verses of 1 Corinthians 15:21-22. These verses speak about the concept of life and death, and how it is affected by man's actions. The first line, "Since by man came death," refers to how human sinfulness brought about death and decay into the world. This can be interpreted as a metaphor for how mankind's destructive behaviors and actions can lead to death and destruction on a global scale.
The following line, "by man came also the resurrection of the dead," speaks to the hope and possibility of rebirth and renewal. This can be understood as a message of optimism and faith, reminding us that even in the darkest of times, there is always the potential for renewal and growth. The final two lines, "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive," further reinforce the idea that we are all imperfect and flawed, but that through faith and redemption, we can overcome our shortcomings and find new life.
Overall, the lyrics of "Flares Pt. 3" speak to the deep human desire for hope and possibility, even in the face of death and destruction.
