I remember when pops woke us up for church
I recall when my father would wake us up early for church

Singing and dancing excited to hear the word
He would be singing and dancing, eagerly anticipating hearing the word of God

It was contagious, so eager ready to learn
His excitement was so infectious that it made me ready and eager to learn as well

I have a light within me, and I need to let it shine and spread its warmth to others

In a dark and dying world, don't know where to turn
In a world filled with darkness and death, people often find themselves lost and without direction

But if we look up at the sky, we can see a bird soaring, carefree and unbound by the limitations of the world

How I was raised that's why it's church in my verse
The way I was brought up is why I mention church in my verses

The trinity of God is made up of three distinct parts, but they are all one and the same. We are like the artist MO3, who is known for his unique style and approach to music

Saving lives You can't compete
God is the one who saves lives, and no one else can compete with him in this regard

Pierced his side and rose in 3
Christ was pierced in his side and died, but he rose again after three days

Eviction note delivered me
I was facing eviction, but God delivered me from this hardship

An opened door I'll let You lead
God has opened a door for me, and I will follow wherever he leads me

My eyes was closed now I can see
I was once blinded and unable to see, but now I can see things clearly thanks to God's guidance

Through every trial get on my knees
Whenever I face a trial or hardship, I turn to prayer and get down on my knees in humility and reverence to God

If it's Your will then let it be
I trust in God's will for my life, and I am content to let things happen as they are meant to

But I can't seem to forget that
However, I cannot forget the impact that church has had on my life

The church to my life, had such an amazing impact
The church has had a profound effect on my life

I had to learn the church is in You, not where You're sitting at
I came to realize that the church is not just a physical building, but rather it is within God and his followers

Christ gave his son did it with love, never repaying that
Christ sacrificed his son out of love for us, and we can never repay him for this immense gift

The building and the pews, is just where You can give it back
The physical church building and the pews are just places where we can give back to God and worship him

We should praise God in advance, even before we receive his blessings. We can do this by singing like Marvin Sapp, a renowned gospel singer

After church, we can enjoy a meal of dinner rolls, fat back, green beans, and chicken macaroni and cheese

After church, our day is typically done

After church, we can relax and enjoy watching football

Enjoy the fam, catch a laugh
We can spend time with our family after church and enjoy some laughter and bonding

A Sunday no church I never had
I have never experienced a Sunday without church

But, that's just who I am
However, this is just part of who I am

Merely a mortal man, trying to be all I can
I am only a human being, doing my best to be the best I can be

A solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand
I stand on a solid foundation of faith in God, and all other ground is unstable and unpredictable

Thank You Lord, You're the Man but some of them won't understand
I am grateful to God for all he does, but some people may not understand this

My whole life has changed
Since encountering God, my entire life has been transformed

Since You came into my heart, life has never been the same
Since God entered my heart, my life has been radically altered

You always come through
God always follows through on his promises and never lets us down

There's no one like You, that can do what You do
There is no one like God, who can do what he does
