sister
s2s Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

She, won't get off the phone, she won't leave me alone
When I'm talking to that guy
She, can be a real nightmare, gets me to do her hair
And says it never turns out right
But when I put on a face, she can tell
Cause she knows me so well

Chorus
Closer than my closest friend, someone who will be there till the end
My sister, sister
Deeper than the deepest sea, no one loves you like your family
My sister, sister

She, reads my diary, she borrows clothes from me
And I never get them back again
And she (and she), locks the bath room door, says five minutes more
And an hour later i'm still not in
And sometimes we fight, every family does (oh yeah)
But that can't change our love

Closer than my closest friend, someone who will be there till the end
My sister, sister
Deeper than the deepest sea, no one loves you like a family
My sister, sister

To celebrate the good times, to help me through the hard times
To bring me down to earth, remind me what's important
And who comes first? Who comes first?
Gotta tell me who I'm talking 'bout
My sister, sister
(Oh yeah) and who comes first? Ain't no doubt about it
My sister, sister

She, watches out for me, I know she'll always be
By my side (by my side)

Closer than my closest friend, someone who will be there till the end
My sister, sister
Deeper than the deepest sea, no one loves you like a family
My sister, sister
Closer than friend, someone who will be there till the end
My sister, sister

Deeper than the deepest sea, no one loves you like a family
My sister, sister

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of s2s's song "Sister" reflect the close relationship between two sisters. The singer outlines their relationship by describing various situations they have been through together. The bond between the two sisters is so strong that they are not just family but also best friends who always stand by each other's side. The song portrays that sisters are often confidants, sharers of secrets and supporters of one another.

The first verse describes how one sister always wants to be by the other's side, even when they are talking to a guy. She also has a habit of getting the other sister to do her hair, even though she always complains that it never turns out right. However, she knows the other sister so well that she can tell when she is putting on a fake face. The second verse tells about how the two sisters share clothes and one of them always locks the bathroom door and takes longer in there than they should.

The chorus emphasizes how the bond between sisters is much stronger than that of friendships, as no one could love them like their family does. The singer acknowledges that although siblings may argue, they still love each other unconditionally. The bridge highlights that the sister is the one who celebrates with them during their happy moments, helps them through their tough times, and reminds them about their priorities, always being there for one another.

Overall, "Sister" by s2s conveys that the bond between sisters is unbreakable, and their love for each other is beyond measure.

Much love from Brazil. I was Mormon then I left the church in pain and experienced the filthiness of the world. Attempted suicide many times, was hospitalized a couple of times do to this.
At the end of the line I was rescued by Jesus. I love Him so much.

To all you dear ladies on these inspiring chats/videos, I want to say thank you and God bless you even more as you journey on. I’m so blessed and encouraged to hear from people like you who turn to and embrace a modest godly lifestyle by reading the Bible for yourself. I cannot find
words to express my appreciation. It helps me to realize that I’m not just being old fashioned and traditional and out of style. Yes, I grew up within the anabaptist circles (thank you for not being too hard on us 😉) There’s good and bad in most organizations (if that’s what you want to call it!) It is our desire to get rid of the bad while preserving the good; and renewing our faith. We see so many leaving and just walking out to embrace what you describe leaving, they discard very important biblical principles; this is heart wrenching to us as we strive to stay on the narrow way; narrow indeed and yet so free. So yes, to see your honest endeavors in the opposite direction of what we are experiencing is like a breath of fresh air. Praise the Lord!

I am Adventist based in Edmonton amd love your content. I started my headcovering journey last year on an almost full time basis and have had doubts but seeing this encourages me. I am still on my modesty journey and trying to let go of all my pants and wear more modest skkrts and dresses. Thank you for all you do for the Kingdom of God.

I think it is wonderful when women of their own motivation -- from reading the Bible -- decide to wear headcoverings. In this way men are not blamed by the "feminists" (that un-feminine political idealogy which is not at all feminine in my view) that they are being a bully; that no, at least speaking for myself and many other women, we WANT to obey God's word and God's order (as clearly elucidated in 1 Corinthians 11) -- and even understand from what Paul said that by wearing head coverings to submit to God's order puts "power" on our heads. Remembering that our head is not just that skull on top of the neck but he who has authority over us (Just as Jesus submits to the Father; men are to submit to Jesus and women or girls submit to their husbands or fathers -- and this allows each in her or his order of God's plan to be the MOST effective and experience God's grace.
