Running

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Each day through my window I watch her as she passes by
I say to myself you're such a lucky guy,
To have a girl like her is truly a dream come true
out of all the fellows in the world she belongs to me.
But it was Just my imagination,
once again runnin' away with me.
It was just my imagination runnin' away with me. Oo
Soon we'll be married and raise a family (Oh yeah)
A cozy little home out in the country with two children maybe three.
I tell you I can visualize it all
this couldn't be a dream for too real it all seems;
But it was Just my imagination once again runnin' way with me.
Tell you it was just my imagination runnin' away with me.

Ev'ry night on my knees I pray Dear Lord, Hear my plea;
Don't ever let another take her love from me or I would surely die.
Her love is heavenly, when her arms enfold me,
I hear a tender rhapsody; but in reality she doesn't even know me.

Just my imagination once again runnin' way with me.
Tell you it was just my imagination runnin' away with me.
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, can't forget her

Just my imagination once again runnin' way with me.
Tell you it was just my imagination runnin' away with me.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Spex//Groove's "Running" describe a man who watches a woman pass by his window every day and imagines a future with her. He feels lucky to have her in his life, but he knows it's all in his imagination. He fantasizes about marrying her, raising a family, and living in a cozy home in the country, but he realizes that it's all just a dream that may never come true.

The man's desperation and desire for this woman are evident in the lyrics. He prays to God every night not to let anyone else take her from him, as he feels he would die without her. He dreams of her arms around him and longs to hear her "tender rhapsody," though he knows it's all in his head.

The repetition of the phrase "just my imagination running away with me" adds to the melancholic tone of the song. It's as though the man is trying to remind himself that it's all just a fantasy, and that he needs to accept reality.

Overall, "Running" is a poignant portrayal of unrequited love and the pain of longing for something that may never be.

Thank you so very, very much. Your simple explanation allowed me to replace drawer that had fallen out while traveling with my travel trailer. Would have been a real pain going without this drawer as it's located below the stove...large skillet and similar storage... and really helps to keep things organized; especially in a small space.

Just the information is worth hundreds of dollars. I have spent so much time and energy trying to fix my dresser, which is irreplaceable, literally. The place I bought it from has closed since, and it's impossible to find another one that would fit in the space that I have! It has ball bearing mechanism and I was struggling to get the drawers out coz the slides had come lose. After I chanced upon this video, I was able to fix the whole thing in less than half-an-hour. Thank you so much!

Wonderful, clearly demonstrated video. Junk was stuck under my under-the-counter spice rack and I couldn't figure out how to get the drawer out. Afraid I would break something. So I Googled "how to remove a spice rack" and found this. It absolutely helped!! The mess beneath has been removed, drawers cleaned and ready to roll again! Thanks so much!

I had bought a little something for my mother which was stuck behind my drawer and I was struggling with it for an hour. I watched this video and it took a second to pull the drawer out and retrieve the gift!
Thank you so much for this video!!🙆

Thank you SO much. Just like everyone else, I was having trouble with a drawer and had trouble simply removing it. Whenever you buy furniture, they should show you how to remove the drawers, so you can maintain or repair your investment. Instead, it’s “Buy the warranty, then if you have ANY problem, we’ll just replace it!” Like I want to do all that for a sticky drawer. Such a disposable mindset nowadays. Miss Fix-it of my household and I really appreciate this helpful video.

God bless you mister! Last weekend your video helped me remove side railed drawers- now today I fixed a draw with an under rail that was falling for weeks every time we opened it- turns out one rail had retracted, I pulled it out and re engaged it to that locking mechanism you described🙏🙏🙏🥰

Thanks very much for this tutorial; I had a drawer that wouldn't close because things had fallen out over the back. The exquisite irony is that among the bits and pieces I retrieved were the printed instructions on how to do exactly this. :-)

So simple but there’s no way I ever would have figured it out. Thanks so much for making the video!
