There's something goin' on
We live in this world where there's something goin' on
Goin' on going' on
At first glance, "Intro" by t.h.e. Sacrament appears to be a repetitive and simplistic song with just four lines of lyrics. However, the tone and delivery of those lyrics create a sense of tension and anticipation. The repeated phrase "there's something goin' on" hints at an imminent change or disturbance. The use of the present continuous tense suggests that the events are ongoing and perhaps building towards a climax or resolution. The lack of specificity in the lyrics leaves the interpretation open to the listener's own experiences and perceptions of the world. It could be a commentary on the current political climate, social unrest or a more personal situation that only the listener can relate to. The use of repetition in the lyrics also reinforces the idea that the world is constantly in motion and that change is inevitable.
In terms of the music itself, "Intro" uses a hard-hitting and punchy drumbeat, layered with distorted guitar riffs to create a dark, heavy sound. The use of short, sharp notes gives the song a sense of urgency and restlessness, which matches the underlying themes of the lyrics. The lack of vocals beyond the four repeated lines further adds to the ominous and foreboding atmosphere, allowing the listener to focus on the driving rhythm and the expectation of the something that's "goin' on."
