The invisible wall
the GazettE Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Pig that is soaked
In soup of crime
It is a pain of the children
Whom you murdered
Hate yourself
In the maze without an end
Why do you still breathe?
The invisible wall
The invisible wall
In the maze without an end
In the maze without an end
Why do you still breathe?
Sorrow made you
In the bottom of the dark sea
Sorrow made you

Pig that is soaked
In soup of crime

In the maze without an end
「Hate yourself」
In the maze without an end
「Hate yourself」
Why do you still breathe?
Sorrow made you
In the bottom of the dark sea
Sorrow made you
Sorrow made you
In the bottom of the dark sea
Sorrow made you

Sorrow made you

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of THE INVISIBLE WALL by the GazettE are a commentary on the pain and suffering caused by those who commit crimes against the innocent. The first line, "Pig that is soaked in soup of crime," suggests that the subject of the song is wallowing in the consequences of their wrongdoing. This leads to the pain of the children who were harmed, and the call to "Hate yourself" for what was done. The maze without an end represents the feeling of being lost or trapped in the aftermath of the crime, with no clear way out.

The chorus repeats the phrase "The invisible wall," which seems to be a metaphor for the difficulty of breaking through the emotional barriers created by the crime. The different emotions listed - loneliness, hate, jealousy, and anxiety - are all negative emotions that can be experienced by both the perpetrator and the victims. The imagery of the laughing blue sky and the coverage of chaos suggest that even the natural order has been disrupted by the crime.

Finally, the lyrics talk about the sorrow that made the person who committed the crime - that their actions have defined them and continue to haunt them, even to the point of being carried over into death.

Am I the only one who likes the gazette because of their music... like yea they're good looking but can we please take a look on their talent to compose and play their instruments, and the lyrics too. Good looks can't outrace the ridiculous amount of talent and virtuosism when it comes to making music these guys have. This song is in the album DIM, a highly conceptual, avant-garde album and one of the gazette's most prolific releases, yet we have whining teenagers focusing more on how the bandmen look or the fanservice. It just hinders them to be known as what they really are: fucking talented musicians.
