Still
the lites Lyrics

But I digress
Been a while
Maybe I confess
Bout time I get it off my chest
I know life is such a mess
But I'm the one to invest
I've been investing
Ain't got time for resting
I know I been talking reckless
Do it all for a necklace
Infectious oh
Family been with me for a while
Boneless wings, asking for 'em mild
I was straight the youngest little child
But look at me now
Guess we grown up
Not giving a fuck
I've been on the run
And I'm running out of luck
I've been talking wild
And I got the semi tucked
I don't mean to front
'Cause we still going up
Yeah we still going up
We still going up
We still going up
We still going up
Yeah We still going up
We still going up
I don't know though
They don't come close
No tomorrow
Grab the front row
For the time we spend
Look at my friends
Till the very end
We've been relevant
For a while
Look at me now
My family proud
Look at me now
We still going up
We still going up
We still going up
Yeah We still going up
We still going up
I don't know though
They don't close
I don't front tho
Catch a break tho
Yeah I've been here for a while
I've been here for a while

One month ago today
I was happy as a lark
But now I go for walks
To the movies, maybe to the park

I have a seat on the same old bench
To watch the children play, huh
You know tomorrow is their future
But for me just another day

They all gather 'round me, huh
They seem to know my name
We laugh, tell a few jokes
But it still doesn't ease my pain

I know I can't hide from a memory
Though day after day I've tried
I keep sayin' she'll be back
But today again I've lied

Oh, I see her face everywhere I go
On the street and even at the picture show
Have you seen her?
Tell me have you seen her?

Oh, I hear her voice as the cold winds blow
In the sweet music on my radio
Have you seen her?
Tell me have you seen her?

Why, oh, why
Did she have to leave and go away?
Oh...oh...oh...oh...oh…
I've been used to havin' someone to lean on
And I'm lost, baby, I'm lost

Have you seen her?
Tell me have you seen her? (Tell me have you seen her?)

Have you seen her?
Tell me have you seen her (Tell me have you seen her?)

Oh, she left her kiss upon my lips
But left that break within my heart

Have you seen her?
Tell me have you seen her?

Oh, I see her hand reaching out to me
Only she can set me free

Have you seen her?
Tell me have you seen her?

Why, oh, why
Did she have to leave and go away
Oh...oh...oh...oh...oh...
I've been used to havin' someone to lean on
And I'm lost, baby, I'm lost

Have you seen her?
Tell me have you seen her? (Tell me have you seen her?)

As another day comes to an end
I'm lookin' for a letter or somethin'
Or anything that she would send
With all the people I know, hmm
I'm still a lonely man
You know it's funny
I thought I had her in the palm of my hand

Have you seen her?
Tell me have you seen her? (Tell me have you seen her?)

(Oh, yeah...eah...eah...)
Have you seen her? (Have you seen her?)
Tell me have you seen her? (Have you seen her?)

Have you seen her?
Tell me have you seen her? (Tell me have you seen her?)

Have you seen her?
Tell me have you seen her (Tell me have you seen her?)

Have you seen her?
Tell me have you seen her (Tell me have you seen her?)

Have you seen her?
Tell me have you seen her (Tell me have you seen her?)

Have you seen her?
Tell me have you seen her (Tell me have you seen her?)

This is for anyone who needs it

This song really touches a nerve in me. I went off to college in 1971 and my girlfriend (senior in high school) promised she would wait for me to return and we'd get married. We were too young to know how life works. Our love letters gradually got colder and colder. Eventually we broke up by way of nasty letters. My heart was broken. Then this song starts playing on the radio. It seemed like the writer knew my story exactly. Every time I hear this song, it takes me back to that painful time in my youth. Well, we eventually did get back together. We are still happily married with two sons and four grandchildren.
