Fires
the wild wild Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I could look at you all night
Toes in the sand, eyes shining in the moonlight
Might be the first time
We're all alone and it feels right
Now I got you moving
You got that sway
You got me laughing
Got me feeling that way
I can be your fire
Let me warm your skin
Make you my own
If you let me in
Baby let's take our time
Live for tonight, I'll be yours, you can be mine
I wanna know you better
Better than I'm used to
I can take you higher
Than you've ever been
Make the night our own
Let you in
I can be your fire
Let me warm your skin
Make you my own
Let me in
I can be your fire
Let me warm your skin

Make the night our own
Let me in, let you in, let me, let you in

This is so absolutely heartbreaking. Not only for the loss of human life, homes, livelihoods and irreplaceable history, but my heart also breaks for the countless wild animals who burned to death, too. Not to mention the countless pets that had to be left behind and meet that same awful fate.
Just absolutely terrible all the way around. 💔

Authorities should be held accountable. I was in the heart of Lahaina as a tourist and we heard no sirens and saw no police patrolling the area telling people to leave. My husband and I even asked hotel staff when we should evacuate but I was told “let’s wait for the authorities”. The authorities failed the locals, the people of Lahaina. Feeling so sad for everyone there..

Why trust the authorities anyway?

Maybe there is a reason the “authorities” were slow to react. This whole event appears sketchy.

I am heartbroken for the people of Maui. Maui is not only a beautiful vacation spot but is home to many. To the residents of Maui, I offer my condolences and sympathy. I am saying prayers for all of you. I lived in Hawaii for 6 years when I was younger and the love and kindness of everyone I knew there was a beautiful thing.
