The lyrics to toddle's song "Hesitate to See" are about feeling disconnected and lost, not knowing what is truly important in life. The singer is alone in a garbage dump, feeling worthless and throwing away harsh words. They surrender to the melody of the end, feeling that there are no words to describe the pain they are feeling.
The second verse talks about how simple things can seem distorted when you don't have clarity in your life. The singer is looking towards the future, counting one, two, and three, but it's all blurry, and they are swaying into the smoke. The melody of the end is still playing, and it echoes in their head, making them feel the futility of words when they can't express what's going on in their minds.
Overall, the lyrics are about feeling lost and disconnected, unable to see what truly matters in life. The melody of the end is a metaphor for the finality of life, the one thing that will always be there, even when everything else feels pointless. It's a reflection on the human condition and how we often get so caught up in superficial things that we forget what truly matters.
