In 1990 Usher joined an R&B local quintet called the NuBeginnings, which was organized by local music svengali, Darryl Wheeler and then he decided to pursue a career in music. Aside from recording, Usher has ventured into business. He has established his own record label, US Records, and is a part owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers franchise. He has also dabbled in acting, with a recurring role on the teen sitcom Moesha, and roles in the films The Faculty (1998, with Josh Harnett) She's All That (1999, with Freddie Prinze, Jr.) and Texas Rangers (2001, with Ashton Kutcher).

Yo
Yo usher
I'm trying find her man
I have no idea who she is
Can you help
Cool
(CHORUS)
Wifey where are you
Wifey where are you
Wifey where are you
Cause here I am
(USHER)
Mother told me
Don't look for love
You will not find it
Be patient babe
For now my eyes I'm closing
I guess I have to wait
Late at night thinking of her
And I know it don't sound right
I don't know what she looks like
But she's my baby
Will holla back
Tell the thruth
(USHER)
(CHORUS)
Wifey where are you
Wifey where are you
Wifey where are you
Cause here I am
(Verse 2)
(PHARRELL)
So maybe u think I'm going out of my mind now
Or maybe my mind is going out of me
For now my eyes are closed but wait
How am I to see
(USHER)
Late at night thinking of her
And I know it don't sound right
I don't know what she looks like
But she's my baby
Will holla back
Tell the thruth
Just to show her the skylights
I promise to be her sunlight
Until my dying day
(USHER)
(CHORUS)
Wifey where are you
Wifey where are you
Wifey where are you
Cause here I am
(Verse 3)
(USHER)
Late at night thinking of her
And I know it don't sound right
I don't know what she looks like
But she's my baby
Will holla back
Tell the truth
Just to show her the skylights
I promise to be her sunlight
Until my dying day
(PHARRELL)
I send my prayers about you to heaven
Did you get them
(USHER)
U probably don't want to move
I'm begging
Believe me baby
(USHER)
(CHORUS)
Wifey where are you
Wifey where are you
Wifey where are you
Cause here I am
(USHER)
(CHORUS)
Wifey where are you
Wifey where are you
Wifey where are you
Cause here I am
(PHARRELL in backround)
Yo
Yo usher
I'm trying find her man
I have no idea who she is
The song "Wifey" by Usher featuring Pharrell is a love song about trying to find the one who he wants to spend the rest of his life with, his "wifey." The song opens with Pharrell asking Usher if he knows who she is, to which Usher replies that he doesn't, but he is looking for her. In the chorus, Usher repeatedly asks where she is with the implication that he is ready to be in a committed relationship with her.
The first verse starts with Usher's mother advising him not to look for love as he won't find it but to be patient until it finds him. So, he closes his eyes and waits, thinking of her late at night, although he has no idea what she looks like. He promises to tell the truth when he finds her so they can be together.
In the second verse, Pharrell jumps in to say that Usher might think he is going out of his mind, but Usher responds that he is only trying to find the one that he loves and will do whatever it takes to search for her. He thinks of her late at night, knowing he wants to show her the world and be her sunlight from now until his dying day.
In the last verse, Usher sends his prayers to heaven, hoping that she is also thinking of him. He pleads with her not to move, implying that he wants her to stay put so he can find her. The song ends with him repeating the chorus, hoping that she hears his call and finds him.
