Romans chapter 8 and verse 18 says:
The Bible teaches us that the difficult times we experience in this life are nothing compared to the greatness that we will experience in eternity.

For I reckon that the sufferings
Because I have thought and considered, I have come to believe that the struggles and hardships I face in this life

Of this present time are not worthy
Are not equal in value or significance

To be compared with the glory
To the greatness, splendor and majesty

I asked myself how did he do it?
I was filled with wonder and curious as to how Jesus, the Son of God, could willingly offer himself as a sacrifice

Make such a sacrifice
To give up his life as an offering for the sins of humanity

And the ones that he loved
Even those who were his closest friends and followers

Wanted him crucified
Betrayed him, turned him in to the authorities and demanded that he be executed by crucifixion

Oh yea, he knew that his friends would betray him
Jesus knew ahead of time that his own disciples would abandon and deny him when he was arrested and tried

And he knew that his blood would be shed
Jesus knew that he would have to suffer and die in order to pay the penalty for our sins and free us from condemnation

He coulda someone else in his place
He could have had someone else take his place and endure the punishment he was about to face.

But instead he said
But he chose to offer himself as the sacrifice

So be it, I agree with and accept what you have asked of me
