Injustice
v.Spy v.Spy Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴

Injustice
We're hearing things about you.
Injustice
We're seeing the things that you do
But you're making friends
And you're telling stories
You're trying harder, every day
You counting change, while holding dollars
You're laughing louder every day
Every day.
Injustice
Will you ever leave our land
Injustice
You bite the feeding hand
But you're making files
And you're drinking champagne
You drive it harder,
Every day
We're walking miles
Dreaming of ice-cream
We're trying harder
Every day.
But you're burning friends
And you're going insane
You take it higher
Every day
You're telling lies
But you're making headway
You make it harder
Every day
Injustice
We see the things that you do
Injustice
You better believe we're watching you
Cos we tug at the leash
You hold on
We tug at the leash
You hold on

We tug at the leash
You hold on to.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Injustice" by v.Spy v.Spy convey a strong sense of frustration and anger towards the injustices and corruption present in society. The song seems to be addressing a powerful, oppressive entity that is engaging in deceptive and harmful actions. The repeated mention of "Injustice" highlights the theme of unfairness and wrongdoing that the singer is witnessing.

The lyrics suggest a contrast between the actions of the oppressive force and the struggles of the ordinary people. While the oppressor is depicted as making friends, telling stories, and enjoying luxuries like champagne, the ordinary individuals are depicted as walking miles, dreaming of simple pleasures like ice cream, and trying harder every day just to survive. This juxtaposition underscores the disparity in power and privilege between the oppressor and the oppressed.

The imagery of counting change while holding dollars and burning friends while going insane symbolizes the destructive and greedy nature of the oppressor. The constant drive to take things higher and make things harder suggests a relentless pursuit of dominance and control at the expense of others. The mention of telling lies but making headway further emphasizes the deceitful tactics employed by the oppressor to maintain their grip on power.

The chorus calls out the oppressor, declaring that they are being watched and that their actions will not go unnoticed. The repeated refrain of "We tug at the leash, you hold on" conveys a sense of resistance and defiance in the face of injustice, suggesting that the oppressed are not willing to submit passively to the oppressive forces at play. Overall, the lyrics of "Injustice" paint a vivid picture of a society plagued by inequality and corruption, while also conveying a message of resilience and determination in the face of adversity.

If anyone asks you who a great Bass player is, then you can look them in the eye and say
CRAIG BLOXOM. The rhythm and the power of Craig's playing drove the band along with the Drumming if
Cliff Grigg.
Who is a great Drummer? Tell them Cliff Grigg is awesome.
What makes this band one of, if not the best and greatest 3 piece bands is Michael Weiley's Guitar playing. RIP MIchael
