Out There
we. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Through all my pain - the hope's remained that someone's out there
Blind like me - dependent on belief that someone's out there
Hard as I may try - who is on my side if there's nobody out there
I stop and wonder why - why should I even try if there's nobody out there
Could I have walked right by - or even said hi to that someone out there
Blind like me - dependent on belief that someone's out there
How can I find what I'm looking for?

Overall Meaning

The song "Out There" by we. explores the theme of loneliness and the search for meaning and connection in life. The lyrics convey a sense of isolation and despair as the singer questions the existence of anyone who might help alleviate his pain and suffering. He feels blind and helpless in his search for companionship and support, and relies on his belief in the possibility that someone is out there to help him through his struggles.

The opening line "Through all my pain - the hope's remained that someone's out there" embodies the central message of the song - that despite the numerous obstacles and challenges we face in life, we continue to hold onto the hope that we are not alone. However, the repetition of the phrase "Blind like me - dependent on belief that someone's out there" reinforces the sense of helplessness that the singer feels, as if the belief in someone else's presence is merely a crutch that he relies on without any concrete evidence.

As the song progresses, the singer's desperation grows, and he questions whether his search for someone out there is in vain. The lines "Hard as I may try - who is on my side if there's nobody out there / I stop and wonder why - why should I even try if there's nobody out there" depict a sense of hopelessness and disillusionment as the singer realizes that his efforts might be futile if the person he seeks may not even exist.

In the end, the vital question asked by the singer is "How can I find what I'm looking for?" - a question that remains unanswered. The song ends with a sense of ambiguity, underscoring our search for meaning and connection in life, and the uncertainty that comes with it.

Looking forward to Luna & Marcus interviewing others! It's a huge release for both of them & those being interviewed. A total level of clarification with understanding each others individual addictions with their own struggles. Releasing oneself to one other going through their daily struggles brings them the weight loss that they carry in their hearts & minds that they keep in their silences. They matter and we appreciate them sharing awareness & educating us all about addiction. They have awakened so many of us which is hard enough for them to share. We learned not to judge any of them. They are strong enough now to release their own truths seeking the help they want & need they give to themselves & we applaud πŸ‘πŸ‘ them for believing in their love for themselves & their beautiful selves! It's absolutely a beautiful gift to ones self. πŸ€—πŸ’―πŸ‘

Thank you AML for this video. In the next few weeks, I’ll be live on TikTok talking about addiction because I’ve lost three relatives to addiction and when I was growing up in high school, I was curious about drugs and wanted to try them out because I thought it was so much fun but my classmates and some of my school staff members kept talking me out of it so I just didn’t do it and only when I got into my early 20s I saw what addiction is really all about and not just on the fun side. So if I can make a difference of talking about addiction on TikTok, then I’m doing great because every school whether they are going or not every school need to know what the real ugly side of addiction is all about. And by the way, again thank you for this film so much.
