The lyrics to YEAT's song "Diëd B4" are full of references that may seem random at first glance but are actually significant to the rapper's story. The song starts with the lines "Yellow, black Chanel hoodie, got C's and B's in it," which can be interpreted as YEAT's success as a rapper and the hard work that he invests in every song. The reference to Zooey Deschanel is an interesting one, as he calls this his movie but states that he is just acting in it. This line could be interpreted as YEAT's acknowledging the pressures of being a successful rapper in today's industry.
YEAT's reference to stepping on hundreds of dollars can also be interpreted as a nod to his success, as he no longer shops at expensive stores like Neiman's, which is synonymous with the elite. The line "everybody act like they own God, that Perc' a demon" represents YEAT's struggle with drug addiction and how it has taken over his life. He says that people act like they are invincible when they are high on Percocet, but it actually leads them down a dark path.
The line "I told 'em I died before, they wouldn't believe it" refers to YEAT's past struggles with addiction and how he has overcome them. He is saying that people wouldn't believe his story because it is so incredible and surreal. The line "Brand new, big body Trackhawk got no keys in it" suggests that while Yeat may have made it to the top, he still has no idea how to deal with this level of success, as evidenced by his carelessness with leaving the keys to the most expensive car he owns inside.
Overall, the lyrics to "Diëd B4" provide insight into YEAT's life and struggles with addiction, while also showcasing his success and the pressures that come with it.
