How do I smile when everything stings?
In the face of pain and discomfort, how am I supposed to maintain a joyful or contented expression?

I see the dark in the most beautiful things
Even in objects or experiences commonly seen as beautiful, I perceive a shadow or negative aspect.

If you are a celestial being, divine and benevolent, sent from a higher realm.

Tell me why I can’t see your halo
Explain to me the reason why I am unable to perceive the shine or aura of goodness that surrounds you.

No halo I can see, why do you lie to me?
I cannot perceive any indication of your purity or goodness, so why do you deceive or mislead me?

You came to steal my soul, no reaping what you sow
You arrived with the intention of taking away my essence or inner being, without facing the consequences of your actions.

I know your love ain’t pure, but to me it’s all a blur
I am aware that your love or affection is not genuine or untainted, but my perception of it is clouded or ambiguous.

I can see through your deceit, but there’s some things I’m still to learn
I can perceive your dishonesty or trickery, yet there are still some lessons or insights I have yet to acquire.

Live in fear, myself to blame
I exist in a state of constant apprehension or dread, and I attribute this condition to my own actions or choices.

Right or wrong, don’t feel no shame
Regardless of whether I am morally correct or incorrect, I do not experience any sense of guilt or remorse.

Black and white don’t feel the same
The distinction between good and evil, or right and wrong, does not evoke the same emotions or responses in me.

Lost myself, don’t know my name
I have become disconnected from my true identity or purpose, and I feel unsure of who I truly am.
