We Don
Pink Floyd Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teacher, leave them kids alone
Hey! Teacher, leave them kids alone
All in all it's just another brick in the wall
All in all you're just another brick in the wall
We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teacher, leave the kids alone
Hey! Teacher, leave us kids alone
All in all you're just another brick in the wall
All in all you're just another brick in the wall

Wrong! Do it again
Wrong! Do it again
If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding
How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?
You! Yes, you behind the bike shed
Stand still, laddie

You! Yes, you behind the bike shed
Stand still, laddie

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Pink Floyd's song 'We Don't Need No Education' describe a narrative that is common to many academic institutions where the students are expected to adhere to certain rules and regulations that suppress their individuality and creativity. The song questions this notion of suppressive education by stating that education cannot be forced on an individual, rather it should be something that is desired and pursued by the student. The lyrics mention "no thought control" which implies that students should have the freedom to think for themselves and not be subject to the whims of their teachers.

The chorus of the song emphasizes the idea that individuals are being molded into something that they do not want to be, that they are only "another brick in the wall." This line has become synonymous with education systems that suppress individuality in favor of conformity. The song also states that teachers ought to "leave them kids alone" and allow them to develop on their own instead of forcing them into a mold.

The song also features a repetitive chant of "Wrong! Do it again," which mimics the regimented and monotonous environment of some educational institutions. It shows the frustration that students feel when they are expected to follow orders blindly, and the negative impact that this kind of education can have on them. The lyrics conclude with a reference to corporal punishment, where a student is called out to stand still behind the bike shed.

Overall, the song's lyrics highlight the oppressive nature of traditional education and the need for freedom of thought and individuality in the learning process. It is a call to educators to provide students with more freedom in their learning and for students to take responsibility for their own education.

I was teaching school AT ALL LEVELS FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS.

BUT it started when I was young in elementary school that should of been a place of joy and happiness, turn into a living hell, and each and every day in elementary school I was bullied by my school teachers, my classmates and I looked different and I spoke differently, but they made my life a living hell.

This is why I started teaching in the schools, to keep this from ever happening to anybody else's child or children...

Right to this day I would have been a murderer etc. starting with my wicked, life destroying, teachers and classmates...

a murderer? because this is how badly these people can treat you, and hurt you and say things to you that can mess with your mind or the child's mind the child becomes damaged in those schools, that are being taught by these Wicked people and I understand what Pink Floyd was saying: Leave those kids alone, they know what is happening and it is still happening and the children are being raped, sodomized, sold, etc.

Why are these horrible things continually happening to the children, little people and it's really is our job, our job to help save them...

the color of a child should not matter, the fact that these little people were and are in trouble every day, that get on that bus, it might be their bus driver, the bus assistant, that's assaulting and insulting them and doing wicked things.

it could be the security officer when they walk in the door of school, it could be the school teacher, it could be the Principal etc.

I have seen these things happen to children of all colors and because I had my own television show for 15 years "WHAT'S NEW" *ON YOU TUBE "TEDDY PARHAM", THEME SONG: MARVIN GAYE'S SONG, 'WHAT'S GOING ON".

LANDED ME ON THE TOP OF THE HATE CHART and I'VE talked about this wickedness ETC.

I have become a target of the city of richmond and the wicked state of virginia FOR ALMOST ALL MY LIFE, but I must hold my own WITH THE HELP AND GUDIANCE FROM: PASTOR ARNOLD MURRAY, REV RHODES, YAHWEH & YAHWEH BEN YAHWEH. INTERNAL GUDIANCE FROM ABOVE!

I KNOW THAT all of those babies in those schools, NEED OUR HELP...

It's time for you parents to put down the liquor bottle, the pill bottle, the dope, etc

I have all kinds of certificates and plaques and awards and volunteers of the Year Awards.

I became the protector of all children that I come in contact with.

I was the NURSE, I WAS THE COUNSELOR, I WORKED IN THE CAFETERIA, I WORKED ON THE PLAYGROUNDS, I KISSED THEIR LITTLE SCAPES AND BO BO'S...
I was excellent at everything I did for them. I never wanted them to experience what happened to me throughout my life, including being brutally RAPED in broad day light, outside in front of about 8 people, nobody lifted a hand, or made a call.

by a total stranger and being impregnated by this animal at age 16 in high school and was still a virgin.

I became a real SUPERWOMAN, underneath I was a real, invisible, badass for the children... I WAS THE BEST AT EVERYTHING BECAUSE I IMMEDIATELY FELL IN LOVE WITH MY OWN CHILDREN and THE children at SCHOOL WERE AN EXTENSION OF MINE... when I first heard this song and I fell in love with it because I had seen some of the wicked things that had been happening to the children RIGHT BEFORE MY VERY EVES. I ALWAYS VOLUNTEERED BECAUSE AS A VOLUNTEER THEY COULD NOT FIRE ME, AS AN EMPLOYEE THEY COULD GET RID OF ME...and I started reporting it to school officisls many years ago fo over 20 years and by the time I finish reporting everything I was the target by the wicked school system and everyone else in richmond in the state of Virginia and they have helped destroy many children of all colors and now I must tell this because not enough parents take enough interest in their children like they should and their children are being killed and destroyed right before their very eyes and a lot of them just don't care they have these children but they never care what happens after they have them the children.

I use the a check in the

* All my life, I HAVE USED THE KNOWLEDGE, POWERFUL HEALING, LOVE, COMPASSION SYMPATHY, SPIRITUAL GUIDANCE, FREEDOM FIGHTER for all SENIORS, HANDICAPPED, YOUNG ADULTS, VETERANS, ANIMALS, ABUSED AND MISUSED, etc. I HAVE BECOME ONE RIGHTEOUS, BRIGHT, EDUCATED, *BAD ASS KICKING*ACTIVIST I've been an advocate for the ALL, and let me get this straight black lives are not the only lives that matter I know that according to my father God Yahweh that all lives matter.

I'm 71 years young and children help keep me young and I love children, all colors, shapes and sizes.

that's the way it should always be, Because we don't need no education that's right stop making them go to the wicked unsafe and deadly schools especially in the poor neighbors. IN ALL OF THESE YEARS NOTHING HAS CHANGED EXPECT THE STATISTICS.

ALMOST EVERY FREAK ON THE UNIVERSE IS TARKETING ALL MY CHILDREN...THEY ARE AND HAVE BEEN FOR CENTURIES. PLEASE HELP ME STOP THE MADNESS!
