Larry Stewart left Restless Heart in late 1991 after the group released the compilation "The Best of Restless Heart." The group then became a quartet and released "Big Iron Horses" in 1992 shortly after which Dave Innis left the group. The group released "Matters of the Heart" in 1994 before splitting up. In 1998, a reunited Restless Heart (minus Innis) recorded three new songs for a Greatest Hits album and then toured with Vince Gill for about a year.
In 2003, all five members reunited and recorded the album "Still Restless" for Koch Nashville in 2004. The record label closed in early 2005 leaving the group without a label. They are still touring and released a live album through their website in August 2007.
We Got The Love

The best things from above
We got the love
We got the love
I know we don't have a lot of money
We can barely keep the bills paid honey
But when we're in each other's arms
Who needs all that stuff
We got the love
Don't need the finer things
Fancy cars or no diamond rings
I want to roll down a simple road
Rock with you when we get old
Sometimes life's a desperate situation
Sometimes it's just grim determination
But I know we'll do what it takes
To make us tough enough
We got the love
We got the love
We got the love
We got the love
Don't need the finer things
Fancy cars or no diamond rings
I want to roll down a simple road
Rock with you when we get old
Built this house of bricks and stone together
Trying to make it strong to last forever
But if these walls come tumblin' down
We still ain't givin' up
We got the love
We got the love
We got the love
We got the love
Roll down a simple road
Rock with you till we get old.....
The lyrics of Restless Heart's song "We Got The Love" speak to the power of love in overcoming life’s struggles and the materialistic desires that arise in modern society. The song begins by stating that when God was handing out the best things from above, the singer and their partner received love. They do not have much money, but when they are in each other's arms, they do not need materialistic things because they have each other. The lyrics highlight the importance of love as it is a timeless gift that cannot be bought or sold, and it is the one thing that can bring happiness and comfort, even in the toughest of times.
The second verse of the song speaks to the desires of the singer and their partner, which are simple. They do not need luxurious things like fancy cars or diamond rings. All they want is to grow old together, rolling down a simple road because life can be both a desperate situation and one that requires determination. No matter what obstacles they encounter, they know that their love will make them strong enough to face them, and they will not give up because they have the love they need to persevere.
In summary, "We Got The Love" is a song that celebrates the power of love and its ability to overcome life’s struggles. The simple yet powerful lyrics remind us of the importance of love in our lives and how it can make even the simplest things feel magical.
