Larry Stewart left Restless Heart in late 1991 after the group released the compilation "The Best of Restless Heart." The group then became a quartet and released "Big Iron Horses" in 1992 shortly after which Dave Innis left the group. The group released "Matters of the Heart" in 1994 before splitting up. In 1998, a reunited Restless Heart (minus Innis) recorded three new songs for a Greatest Hits album and then toured with Vince Gill for about a year.
In 2003, all five members reunited and recorded the album "Still Restless" for Koch Nashville in 2004. The record label closed in early 2005 leaving the group without a label. They are still touring and released a live album through their website in August 2007.
You Can Depend On Me

The sun comes up and that north wind blows
Just as sure as these are guaranteed
Honey, you can depend on me
This day and time, lovers come and go
When it seems, there's no one left to hold
For so many, when the morning comes around
Just as long as that old river flows
The sun comes up and that north wind blows
Just as sure as these are guaranteed
Honey, you can depend on me
Together, never to part
Forever, you can bet your heart
Just as long as that old river flows
The sun comes up and that north wind blows
Just as sure as these are guaranteed
Honey, you can depend on me
Oh, together, never to part
Forever, you can bet your heart
Just as long as that old river flows
The sun comes up and that north wind blows
Just as sure as these are guaranteed
Honey, you can depend on me
Together and forever in sweet harmony
You can depend on me
The lyrics to Restless Heart's song "You Can Depend On Me" are a promise of unwavering love and commitment. The repetition of "just as long as that old river flows" and "just as sure as these are guaranteed" create a sense of stability and assurance. The singer promises to always be there for their partner and to never leave them feeling alone. The line "this ol’ boy can’t be found" implies that while others may come and go, the singer will always be faithful and loyal.
The chorus emphasizes the promise of forever love, and assures that the two lovers will always be together in "sweet harmony". The repetition of "together, never to part" and "forever, you can bet your heart" reinforces this idea. The use of nature - the river flowing and the sun rising - as symbols of constancy further adds to the theme of unwavering love.
Overall, "You Can Depend On Me" is a song about the steadfastness of love and the commitment to remain together forever. It conveys a sense of security and long-term devotion that is rare in today's world.
