Oriana Curls is a French singer songwriter based in London for the past three years. Her talent as a songwriter and her impressive four-octave range voice has already allowed her to work with some of the best musicians, writers and producers throughout London. From such varied and successful artists like Andy Bradfield (Imelda May, Rufus Wainwright), Marcella Puppini (The Puppini Sisters), Alex Von Soos (Number one hit song 'Black coffee'), Alex Golding (Lulu, Keziah Jones), french american composer Eve Buigues (Margaret Cho) and multi-instrumentalist and producer Koby Israelite (John Zorn, Madonna).
She started studying classical violin, piano and ballet from a young age at the renowned Conservatoire in Strasbourg. From there, she later moved to Paris where she developed her talent for Jazz as well as starting to perform as a burlesque dancer further improving her stagecraft as a performer. Always feeling she wasn't in the right city that would allow her to develop her own unique style, she decided to move to the London scene to further advance her career as a serious artist.
Musically, with a strong Italian and Spanish background, she is also a multilingual singer, being influenced by classical, jazz, Latin and French chanson. Singing about love and relationships, she seduces, moves and entertains the audience with jazzy up-tempo numbers and romantic soaring ballads. Combined with her charming gypsy violin playing and dance movements, she is very reminiscent of the most renowned French names (Edith Piaf), adding some timeless songs to her repertoire.
Today she is currently performing her original catchy tunes and developing her sophisticated image influenced by the caricatures of Betty Boop, Tex Avery, as well as movie genres from Directors Almodovar and Tarantino. She's been playing in the most prestigious venues such as The Troubadour, The Bedford Arms, and The Forge. She is also a part of the weekly cabaret show 'The Guinea Club' in Camden.
