Plane
½ÜÉ ÂêÒ®×ÈJason Mraz Lyrics

Drain the veins in my head
Clean out the reds in my eyes to get by security lines
Dear x-ray machine
Pretend you don't know me so well
I won't tell if you lied
Cry, cause the droughts been brought up
Drinkin' cause you're lookin' so good in your Starbucks cup
I complain for the company that I keep
The windows for sleeping rearrange
And I'm nobody
Well who's laughin' now

I'm leaving your town again
And I'm over the ground that you've been spinning
And I'm up in the air so baby hell yeah
Well Honey, I can see your house from here
If the plane goes down, damn
I'll remember where the love was found
If the plane goes down, damn

Damn, I should be so lucky
Even only 24 hours under your touch
You know I need you so much
I cannot wait to call you
And tell you that I landed somewhere
And hand you a square of the airport
And walk you through the maze of the map
That I'm gazing at
Gracefully unnamed and feeling guilty for the luck
And the look that you gave me
You make me somebody
Ain't nobody knows me
Not even me can see it, yet I bet I'm

I'm leaving your town again
And I'm over the ground that you've been spinning
And I'm up in the air, so baby hell yeah
Oh honey I can see your house from here
If the plane goes down, damn
I'll remember where the love was found
If the plane goes down, damn

You keep me high minded
You get me high

Flax seeds, well they tear me open
And supposedly you can crawl right through me
Taste these teeth please
And undress me from these sweaters better hurry
Cause I'm keeping upward bound now
Oh maybe I'll build my house on your cloud
Here I'm tumbling for you
Stumbling through the work that I have to do
Don't mean to harm you

By leaving your town again
But I'm over the quilt that you've been spinning
But I'm up in the air, said baby hell yeah
Oh honey I can see your house from here
If the plane goes down, damn
I'll remember where the love was found
If the plane goes down, damn
I'll remember where the love was found
If the plane goes down, damn
Well I'll remember where the love was found
If the plane goes down, damn

You keep me high
You get me high minded

You keep me high
You get me high minded

Overall Meaning

In "Plane," Jason Mraz describes his experiences traveling on airplanes and the emotions that come with being away from his loved one. The first verse sets the scene as he prepares to go through airport security, expressing his desire to remove the stress from his mind and the physical signs of tiredness from his eyes to make it through smoothly. He talks about drinking coffee to stay awake and cope with being away from home. Mraz complains about his surroundings and confides that he feels like he's nobody, suggesting he is longing for home and his loved one's companionship.

In the chorus, Mraz reveals that he is leaving town again and reflects on his feelings about the person he's leaving behind, claiming to see her house from the plane. He expresses his love for her and acknowledges that if something were to happen to the plane, he would remember where he found the love he had for her.

The second verse expresses his desire to be with his loved one again and to share his experiences with her. He describes how her love makes him feel seen and valued, and how he is grateful for that connection. The song concludes with Mraz planning for the next time he returns home, hoping that his loved one will still be there and remembering the source of his happy memories even in the face of danger.

Years ago my best friend was driving down the street when a similar plane hit some lines and crashed to the ground. My buddy ran over to the crash and saw that the pilot was still conscious and talking but trapped. He tried to pull him through the front windshield but the pilot kept falling back. All of a sudden the cockpit caught on fire and despite additional attempts to pull him out, the pilot gave up and expired in the flames. Twenty years later my friend has never been the same.

@Apoorunfortunatesoul my guy imagine the challenger crew capsule they survived the explosion but not the mach 5 collision with the ocean like a wet sticky meat coffin when they opened it couldnt even properly identify 2 of them i think

Apoorunfortunatesoul

That's so sad and horrible.. the chances are so unlikely to survive a plane crash and then to survive it initially but then burn to death. Damn

Kiam Kweli

Thank you for sharing. Watching someone burn alive is a horrific experience.

This is really scary! I've experienced it before too except it wasn't at the power line tower and I can say that it was so terrifying and I was crying so much that I thought I was gonna die. Praying for those people that make it out alive and safe.

TrickOr Trump

The same thing happened to me except it wasn’t a plane, it was a car and there were no power lines involved but a lot of black ice. I’ve never been so terrified!

@The Doge i just said they might be telling the truth, never said you were lying, so best way is to stay quiet 💀

L-Trizzle-12

Listen…I went through something very similar, and it really isn’t that scary at all, to be honest…
