It's Only Love
Ê·µÙÞ±.ÄÝ¿ËË¿(Stevie Nicks) Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I think I met my match again
Passing 'round the candlelight
In the center of this blizzard
You stood and melted all the ice

Chorus:
Ah, it's only love
Ah, it's only love
Ah, if only love comes 'round again
It will have been
Worth the ride

You were master of so many
But savior to none
I waged all of my hopes so plenty
On you, now look what I've become

Chorus

What a ride...

Someday's lonely is not only
A word, but faces I have known
And if you see me, could you free me
With a smile, so I can let go

Chorus

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Ê·µÙÞ±.ÄÝ¿ËË¿'s song "It's Only Love" talk about the enigma of love, how it can be both beautiful and painful, heavenly and hurtful at the same time. The first verse describes the feeling of finding someone who might be "the one," and how they can make everything feel right even in the midst of chaos. However, the chorus hints at the possibility that love may not always work out, but even if it doesn't, the experience of it is worth it.

In the second verse, the lyrics talk about someone who may be a master in many things but cannot save the singer who has placed all their hopes and dreams on this person. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the idea that the feeling of being truly in love, no matter how fleeting or complicated, is worth the journey.

The third verse talks about the loneliness that sometimes comes with love, and how it can become a burden that one can't let go of. The singer asks for help with a smile so they can be freed of this burden. The chorus repeats again, as if reassuring the audience that love is always worth the ride.

Overall, the song seems to suggest that despite the uncertain nature of love, it's something we should all experience because it adds depth and meaning to our lives.

Seriously. You're being fooled if you don't understand how good music was back in the day.

@hasgoodles7807

That’s a pile of horse poop. 1981-1984, and then it went into the pooper. At least on the radio and mtv. No decent band could get any form of airplay in the states after this. It was a heaping, steaming pile of dung.

And still so many dislikes, it's just unbelievable!

True story. My son and I went to see Bryan Adams in Ottawa a couple of months ago. Before Bryan started singing this legendary song, Bryan said he did this song with Tina and apologized Tina wasn't there to sing this song with him. The crowd went nuts when Bryan started singing this song. A song to always love ❤️. RIP Tina. We will continue to listen to your music.

@@jayvonjayvon6147today it is sunny, but a little cool.

It was really sunny but it had a cool breeze. Ottawa is a beautiful city compared to some. Outdoor activities right on our doorstep. Once a Valley Girl, always a Valley Girl (Ottawa Valley)
