Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of ゲルニカ's song "百華の宴" depict a scene of flourishing plant life within a closed, greenhouse-like environment. The first two lines describe the intermingling of plants and the scattering of spores and pollen. The following lines go on to describe the thriving jungle of greenery, controlled by fluctuating temperatures, controlled humidity, and ample supply of nutrients and oxygen. The imagery of the opening and closing of plant pores, and the decay of rotting fruit with an overflow of chlorophyll and blooming bulbs with a riot of colors, all create a picture of constant growth and rebirth within this enclosed space.

The overall tone of the song is one of awe at the power of nature to thrive and survive, even in limited and unnatural conditions, and the beauty that results from this growth. The greenhouse, with its artificial control over the environment, represents the limits of human control and the vast, unknown potential still present in the natural world.
