ペリー・コモ [feat. Henri René and His Orchestra & Chorus] Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Only my love for you
Only the dream we knew
No other love
Watching the night go by
Wishing that you could be
Watching the night with me
Hurry home, come home to me
Set me free
Free from doubt and free from longing
Into your arms I'll fly
Locked in your arms I'll stay
Waiting to hear you say
No other love have I
No other love
(Into the night I cry)
Hurry home, come home to me
Set me free
Free from doubt and free from longing
Into your arms I'll fly
Locked in your arms I'll stay
Waiting to hear you say
No other love have I
No other love
(No other love)

Manie Sacks -- 'arranging' Perry Como and Richard Rodgers' mutual favorite song
Sacks got Perry Como to record “No Other Love,” which Rodgers wrote (as an instrumental Titled Under the Southern Sky] for the TV series, Victory at Sea -- then inserted it, into Me and Juliet. Thus Sacks used a pop record to promote both the Victory at Sea and the Me and Juliet LPs. Como said at Manie’s funeral: “Of all the songs I ever sang for Manie, ‘No Other Love’ particularly meant a great deal to me.”
[My family had a copy of this -- on a 78 rpm record!]
Those words penned by Oscar Hammerstein to the melody composed earlier for Victory at Sea -- so haunting!

1952: have a copy of "Victory at Sea", the NBC-TV series, and recognized the original Bennett recording. Rodgers thought he had a winner, Hammerstein put words to it, and Como did the rest. Nearly 70 years on, still a great record.

Very beautiful romantic melody with a tango rhythm

Some folks just do not spend the time to read the info posted by the you tuber. All about the song is explained. Great song. I was ten when I heard this on radio. That was when pop music ruled AM radio. This kind of music imprinted on my soul.

What a legendary crooner . He was right up there with Frank Sinatra in his day. Como sold over 100 million records.
In 1974 he performed at the London Palladium as part of a benefit concert and was taken aback by the warm welcome .He returned to London later that year for another benefit with Queen Elizabeth ll and Queen mother in attendance
