The Japanese lyrics of Nakashima Mika's song "Will" describes the memories and dreams of the artist during her youthful years. The first stanza recalls how the artist and her friends used to believe in the vastness of the night sky and would try to spot small stars with the same telescope. They were always together, but the singer sometimes felt a sense of loneliness while in their company. Once, in the end of summer, at the moment when the lights turn off one by one, she fumbled around to find someone's lips to kiss.
The second stanza continues to reflect on the past but also moves into the present, where the singer realises how uncertain the future holds. He wonders about the many dreams he had seen over the years and compares them to the present moment, now that he has understood the direction of his own will, who he really is. In this moment, the dreams seem smaller than the path he had chosen for himself. The chorus repeats itself throughout the song, emphasising the importance of the "will" in defining oneself and in choosing a destiny.
