Fairytale
Kalafina Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
夢を思い出した
若草色の哀しみを
細く甘く歌う
my fairy tale
何も終わることのない
永遠を知っていた
もう誰も語らない
キスを一つ残して
君は何処へ行く
灯火一つ抱いて
森に消えて行く
in the dark
ずっと遠くへ歩いてく
懐かしい面影
ずっと遠くが君の家
辿り着けはしない
your fairy tale
in the light
These lyrics are from the song "Fairytale" by Kalafina. The song explores themes of nostalgia, lost dreams, and the passage of time. It tells a story of two people who once shared an eternal bond but are now separated, with one of them embarking on a journey into the unknown.
The first paragraph reflects on childhood dreams that were left behind. The singer remembers the bittersweetness of those dreams, describing them as a thin and sweet sorrow. They refer to the dreams as their "fairy tale." They also mention knowing the feeling of eternity, suggesting that they had once believed in a love or connection that would never end. However, now it seems that no one talks about their story anymore, and they wonder where the other person is going, leaving behind a kiss and disappearing into the forest.
The second paragraph continues the exploration of distance and loss. The singer reminisces about familiar memories that have become distant and unattainable. They mention that the place they long for, symbolized by the word "home," will never be reached. This could represent the emotional distance between the two individuals or the impossibility of returning to the past. The phrase "your fairy tale" implies that this story was specifically important to the person they are addressing, emphasizing their separation.
The third paragraph reveals that the dream of eternity remains closed off and the mistakes made in the past remain hidden. The singer describes the return journey as fading away, as they can no longer see the other person. The phrase "sayonara" (meaning goodbye) indicates the finality of their separation. They depict the other person going somewhere, perhaps through a misty forest, waving their hand once, and leaving for tomorrow. The line "you risk liking them, and eternity ends" suggests that falling in love with someone leads to the end of their eternal bond and the beginning of the joys and pains of living.
The final phrase "in the light" contrasts with the earlier mention of being "in the dark." It could imply that despite the pain and loss, life continues and brings both happiness and sadness. The overall interpretation of the lyrics portrays a wistful reflection on lost dreams and the passing of time, capturing the complexities of human connections and emotions.

Nasu's lyrics + Kajiura's Melody + Kalafina's performance = REAL Magic
@niklastjitra1323
What, nasu wrote the lyrics?
@user-ts8hq7hy6d
@@niklastjitra1323 Nasu and Kajiura co-composed the lyrics.
@TheSeeking2know
I didn't know the lyrics were co-written.
@fitriaahsani1286
@@user-ts8hq7hy6d i never heard this info. Afaik Kajiura just took some (many) lines from the novel, but Nasu did not necessarily take part in the lyric composition.

Any song composed by Yuki Kajiura never gets boring. I personally believe this is one of her best pieces she has released so far.
@Ravensh1ne
listening for 3 years, hello from 2020 where it's still AWESOME
@KitySims
This is also one of my all time favorites from Kalafina! Been listening to them and Kajiura music for almost 9 years and it never gets old!
@AC9123
Honestly... Yes. But I personally have yet to find a favorite since they're all so good.
@fenqing01
Not all. Her latest work , Homura, is a huge disappointment. I am not saying Homura is bad but we hardly can find any 'Yuki Kajiura' in that song.
