Dave Kelly and Derek Jeffery met in 1968 in Cambridge, England, and formed a duo. They were contracted to Apple Records (Beatles label) and Warner Brothers in the UK and then moved from London to Los Angeles in the mid-1970s where they met guitarist Al Perkins. Al Perkins agreed to produce their songs and decided to join the duo as the lead guitarist, while recruiting two American session musicians who formed the rhythm part of the album to round off the band. When the record came out, they received the "Album of the Year" award from "Campus Life" magazine and seemed destined for great success in the CCM scene. Unfortunately, the small label Spirit, for which they signed, went bankrupt in its first year and the album was forgotten.

The album "The Angels Come" is a collection of 10 songs, where you can easily see that the influence of The Byrds, Beatles, Crosby Stills & Nash has contributed to it.
