In the Mirror
(Loudness) Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Mirror!
Mirror!
Mirror!

Mirror!
Mirror!

Mirror! mirror!
Mirror!

You are not the only one who's in pain!

Do what you like!
You are grown man!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Loudness' "In The Mirror" speak of a clown-like figure in a town that has lost its sparkle, who seeks to wash away their pain and tears with their laughter. The chorus consists of the singer asking the mirror to console their heart that beats for love, despite not being reflected in their eyes. They plead with the mirror to hurry and reveal their innermost desire for love. The final lines are a message of encouragement, that they are not alone in their struggles and should do what they like as a grown man.

The lyrics suggest a sense of loneliness and the desire for love and acceptance, as well as the idea that laughter can be used to mask pain. The use of a clown-like figure also suggests the idea of putting on a facade or a performance in order to hide one's true emotions. The repeated plea to the mirror for guidance and comfort highlights the need for self-reflection and introspection in times of hardship.

I'm gonna make a change
For once in my life
It's gonna feel real good
Gonna make a difference
Gonna make it right
As I, turn up the collar on
My favorite winter coat
This wind is blowin' my mind
I see the kids in the street
With not enough to eat
Who am I, to be blind pretending not to see their needs?
A summer's disregard
A broken bottle top
And a one man's soul
They follow each other on the wind ya know
'Cause they got nowhere to go
That's why I want you to know
I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could've been any clearer
If they wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make a change
I've been a victim of a selfish kind of love
It's time that I realize
That there are some with no home
Not a nickel to loan
Could it be really me pretending that they're not alone?
A willow deeply scarred
Somebody's broken heart
And a washed out dream (washed out dream)
They follow the pattern of the wind, ya see
'Cause they got no place to be
That's why I'm starting with me
I'm starting with the man in the mirror (oh)
I'm asking him to change his ways (oh)
And no message could've been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make a change
I'm starting with the man in the mirror (oh)
I'm asking him to change his ways (oh)
And no message could've been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make that
Change
I'm starting with the man in the mirror (oh yeah)
I'm asking him to change his ways (better change)
No message could've been any clearer
(If you wanna make the world a better place)
(Take a look at yourself and then make the change)
you can't
(Then you close your) close your, your mind
With the man in the mirror, oh yeah
I'm asking him to change his ways (better change)
No message could've been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make a change
gonna feel real good now
I'm gonna make a change
It's gonna feel real good
Come on (change)
Just lift yourself
You know
You've got to stop it
Yourself (yeah)
I've got to make that change today
(Man in the mirror) you got to
You got to not let yourself brother
(Yeah) you know
(Make that change) I've got to get that man, that man
You've got to
You've got to move
Come on
Come on
You got to
Stand up, stand up (yeah, make that change)
Stand up
Stand up and lift
Yourself, now
(Man in the mirror)
Gonna make that change come on
(Man in the mirror)
You know it
You know it
You know it
You know
Change
Make that change

He wasn’t a selfish person. Ever. He was so abused and traumatized as a child so when he broke free to release his own albums he was looked upon as selfish. He needed to be free. He then gave back to the fans and for so many children he was a hero. He really was a king. Michael, you dropped this ✨👑✨, fly high king.

@Blizzious

And yet, 11 years later. He's still getting abused, by the media and because of that one documentary that ruined everything.

@m7disonnn

If anyone is saying he wasnt abused. That is a lie. Sorry, but its true.. he was :C

@yussufmadam8324
