SliceThePie.com is a social networking site that encourages users to review and vote for bands who go on to win £15,000 to record their debut album.
The chart-smashing rock band are touted as the UK's answer to Jimmy Eat World, Paramore and even The Killers. Based in Leeds, this rock sensation has cemented itself as one of the most exciting live bands in the UK thanks to a thrilling live show, extensive touring and self-promotion, and the help of a hit single.
In Summer 2006, *Armstrong self-released their debut single which reached 23 in the Indie Charts, and were described as “A Tornado of Infectious Pop-Rock Melodies” by Kerrang! Magazine. The band filmed the video for this debut single with the producer of CD:UK. They have played sold out shows in many venues nationally, including The Fly and Barfly in London, and have supported the likes of the Pigeon Detectives, Elliot Minor, You Me At Six and The Sunshine Underground amongst others.
Their demo CD, which helped them win the Slice The Pie competition, was produced by Headroom Productions who have previously worked with artists such as Kaiser Chiefs, Motion City Soundtrack, Grammatics and The Pigeon Detectives.

The song Snow by Armstrong is a mixture of despair, love, and longing. The lyrics allow listeners to feel the raw emotions that the singer feels from constantly being at a loss in a relationship. The first verse conveys that the singer knows something is wrong in the relationship, but her partner refuses to tell her what it is. She can see it in her partner's eyes; there's nothing left to hide. The lyrics indicate that the singer is willing to go anywhere that their partner wants to go to work things out. Unfortunately, it sounds like it may be too late, as the song's chorus repeats the sentiment of the singer's anticipation of the partner leaving.
In the second verse, the partner accuses the singer of telling everything without leaving anything for them to imagine. The singer admits this is all she knows, and although she knows it isn't what the partner wants, it's all she has to offer.
