16volt had a cameo appearance in the Cult PS2 game Primal, where they played in a club in the opening cut scene as well as supplying combat music such as Happy Pill, Suffering You, And I Go, Keep Sleeping, At The End and Alkali.
The band made a highly successful recent comeback with their first release of original material for nine years, with 2007's FullBlackHabit. This album included Suffering You, a track originally included as a demo on SuperCoolNothing V2.0.
Another album release is planned for September 8th, 2009, as Eric Powell has announced on http://16volt.com/. Updates on Twitter and recent video blog posts have suggested that drums and bass guitar have already been recorded. The album, 16 Volt's sixth major studio album, is to be apparently titled "AmericanPornSongs".
As of Thursday, May 28th, 2009, all of 16 Volt's current is downloadable at http://16volt.com/downloads/
Skin
16 Volt Lyrics

Why do you leave me wanting more?
Why do all the things I say
Sound like the stupid things I've said before?
(Put your hand on my skin)
(Put your hand on my skin)
(Put your hand on my skin)
Kiss me, I'm dying
Put your hand on my skin
I close my eyes
I need to make a connection
I'm walking on a thin line
I close my eyes
I close my eyes
Do I know you from somewhere?
Why do you leave me wanting more?
Why do all the things I say
Sound like the stupid things I've said before?
Touch me, I'm trying
To see inside of your soul
I've got this thing
I want to make a correction
I'm not like this all the time
You've got this thing
You've got this thing
Do I know you from somewhere?
Why do you leave me wanting more?
Why do all the things I say
Sound like the stupid things I've said before?
Kiss me, I'm dying
Put your hand on my skin
I close my eyes
I need to have your protection
I close my eyes
I close your eyes
(Kiss, kiss, kiss me)
Do I know you from somewhere?
Why do you leave me wanting more?
Why do all the things I say
Sound like the stupid things I've said before?
Do I know you from somewhere?
Why do you leave me wanting more?
Why do all the things I say
Sound like the stupid things I've said before?
Kiss me, I'm dying
Touch me, I'm trying, oh
I'm not like this all the time
I'm not like this all the time
Put your hand on my skin
Put your hand on my skin
Put your hand on my skin
Touch me, I'm trying, oh
Put your hand on my skin
Put your hand on my skin
I'm not like this all the time
I'm not like this all the time
I'm not like this all the time
In "Skin" by 16 Volt, the singer is seeking a connection with another person, but they feel trapped by their own repetitive and foolish behavior. They are both frustrated by and drawn to the other person, indicated by the repeated question "Do I know you from somewhere?" The singer craves physical and emotional touch, as demonstrated through the repeated refrain "Put your hand on my skin," and "Kiss me, I'm dying." They are looking for someone to help them feel safe and "have your protection."
The chorus contains the repetition of the phrase "Why do all the things I say / Sound like the stupid things I've said before?" The singer is lamenting their inability to connect with the other person and their frustration with their own habits that may be getting in the way. However, they continue to reach out for that connection in hopes of breaking free from this stagnation.
Overall, the song explores the desire for genuine human connection, the frustration and insecurity that can come with it, and the repeated patterns that can prevent that connection from happening.
