Jackson was born and raised in South Jamaica, a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Queens. His mother Sabrina, a drug dealer, died in a fire when he was 8. Since his father had already abandoned the family, young Curtis was sent to live with his grandparents. Growing up during the crack epidemic of the 80s and 90s, Jackson dealt drugs when he wasn't "killing time" at school or boxing at a local gym. His grandparents assumed he was at after-school programs when he was out selling crack. In tenth grade, Jackson was caught with guns and drug money passing through the metal detectors at Andrew Jackson High School in Queens. In 1994, Jackson was arrested again for selling vials of cocaine to an undercover officer, and three weeks later he was arrested yet-again after police found heroin, crack cocaine, and a starter pistol in his home. Jackson was sentenced to 3 to 9 years in prison, but opted to join a 6 month boot camp program and get his GED. Around this time, Jackson began going by "50 Cent," inspired by deceased Brooklyn stick-up man Kelvin "50 Cent" Martin.
After leaving drug dealing to pursue a rap career, he released his debut album Guess Who's Back Again in 2002. He was discovered by Eminem and Dr. Dre and then signed to Interscope Records. He has since released Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2003), The Massacre (2006), Curtis (2007) and Before I Self Destruct (2009).
50 Cent has engaged in feuds with other rappers including Jay-Z, Ja Rule, The Game, Cam'ron, Fat Joe, and Rick Ross. He has also pursued an acting career, appearing in the semi-autobiographical film Get Rich or Die Tryin' in 2005, the Iraq War film Home of the Brave in 2006, and Righteous Kill in 2008. 50 Cent is one of the richest hip-hop performers, having a net worth estimated at US $440 million in 2008.
Before 50 Cent ever inked a major deal, he built up a substantial fan base in New York through underground mixtapes. 50 Cent met up with Jam Master Jay of Run-DMC and was signed to his label to write all of Jay’s music. After he’d left JMJ, he signed to Columbia Records in 1996. On this label, he released Power of the Dollar, and the singles How to Rob and Ghetto Qua Ran. Columbia Records released him from the label after being shot on May 24th, 2000.
Around this time, Eminem had heard one of 50 Cent’s demo tapes and expressed a huge interest in him on MTV, as did Dr. Dre. Shortly after this, 50 Cent officially signed to Interscope Records. He was the first rapper to sign to the joint label owned by Dr. Dre and Eminem. The first song he released on this record was entitled Wanksta and was featured on the 8 Mile soundtrack.
In its first week of release, his debut ”Get Rich Or Die Tryin’” sold 872,000 units - easily reaching Gold status. Within the second week it went Platinum (1 mil) and on April 12th, 2004 the RIAA certified it six times Platinum.
In 2005 he followed the success of his album Get Rich or Die Tryin’ with a new release - The Massacre (originally called St. Valentines Day Massacre until the release date was pushed back). The first single released off this, Disco Inferno, was a huge hit - he followed this hit up by the release of Candy Shop and then again with Just a Lil Bit.
In 2003 Interscope Records allowed 50 Cent to have his own label - G-Unit Records. He first signed Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and Young Buck as the established members of G-Unit Records. In 2004, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent had signed The Game under a joint venture.
Niggas Be Schemin'

To cut your jooks, take off the hook
I come through there, look how they look
I'm ridin' leanin', they dreamin'
They do me dirty if they could
I'm lookin' like I wish you would
Try me, go 'head, try me
Niggas be schemin', dreamin'
Niggas be schemin', dreamin'
Mad niggas wan' do me dirty
I'm fresh out the tub
You move like a snail you
Deserve to catch a slug
Man I wake up huggin' my bitch
One with that extended clip
Not the one that I'm with
If you all made man, then you know shit real
They got change on Lil Mike
I ain't trynna see him killed
I told 'em that's my cuz
I don't wanna see nothin' happen to him
Cause when I start spittin' at 'em
I ain't rappin to 'em
Now I'm jumpin' in that water like a diver
Six shot survivors
School of hard knock scholars
These niggas ain't riders, they hiders
They cowards
I feel like 50, hold power of a dollar
I told my nigga give me
One of them bullet-proof trucks
I want you dumb enough to try and shoot it up
I'm lookin' at the nigga lettin' off
Wait until you finish the clip
Laugh then pulled off
Niggas be schemin', fiendin'
To cut your jooks, take off the hook
I come through there, look how they look
I'm ridin' leanin', they dreamin'
They do me dirty if they could
I'm lookin' like I wish you would
Try me, go 'head, try me
Niggas be schemin', dreamin'
Try me have you hooked to IV
Niggas be schemin', dreamin'
It sounds like a nightmare
I graduated from fightin'
Play the projects faster than
The 32 man indictment
See my baby blue Ferrari make
'em feel like the virus
In they stomach, I keep it one hundred
I make 'em vomit
I got a code name for straps
Sacks in the trumpet i get to blowin'
The ears will ring for days when I dump it
My bullet wounds call 'em beauty marks
And my ho we don't talk to narcs
So the first 48 the clock tickin'
The plot thickens
The charge, cocaine possession
I'm creepin' with a firearm
The D's don't even wanna see me
With a firearm
Before I go back again, I'mma let it off
They ain't got to pop first
Fuck that I'mma set it off
I need a mental eval
Somethin' wrong with my brainwaves
I'm rich as a motherfucker still
Ridin' with a AK
Picture me comin' through lettin'
A nigga play me
When I got all this bread, bitch
It's off with ya head, aSAP
Niggas be schemin', fiendin'
To cut your jooks, take off the hook
I come through there, look how they look
I'm ridin' leanin', they dreamin'
They do me dirty if they could
I'm lookin' like I wish you would
Try me, go 'head, try me
Niggas be schemin', dreamin'
Try me have you hooked to IV
Niggas be schemin', dreamin'
I had to be slippin' to let
This clown hit me up
Now I gotta walk around with
This shit bag for months
Now I don't give a fuck 'bout
A bitch or a nigga
Startin' to treat my own brothers
Like they just another nigga
My clique got smaller and my clips got bigger
Condom on my heart, motherfuck your feelings
They call me Superman see I
Ain't supposed to walk
Better watch how you talk or
Get popped like a cork, off
See they ain't real as they
Seem and they schemin'
They fiendin' and dreamin'
They geekin' and creepin'
They hear tires screechin', infrared beamin'
Niggas head leakin'
What the fuck was he thinkin'?
Sounds of police, momma signin' new leases
You know you got to relocate
Her when you beefin'
I guess you're here for a real reason
Rah got hit like you got hit
But he ain't fuckin' breathin'
Niggas be schemin', fiendin'
To cut your jooks, take off the hook
I come through there, look how they look
I'm ridin' leanin', they dreamin'
They do me dirty if they could
I'm lookin' like I wish you would
Try me, go 'head, try me
Niggas be schemin', dreamin'
Try me have you hooked to IV
Niggas be schemin', dreamin'
The lyrics to "Niggas Be Scheming" by 50 Cent feat. Kidd Kidd depict a world filled with deception, betrayal, and survival. The song portrays a sense of mistrust and caution, as the artists navigate through their environment where people are constantly plotting against them.
The lyrics talk about how people are always scheming and plotting to cut off their opportunities (their "jooks") and take advantage of them. Despite these threats, the artists remain vigilant, riding through the streets with a sense of confidence and superiority. They are aware that others would do them dirty if given the chance, and they have a strong desire to defend themselves if provoked or challenged.
There is a recurring theme of violence throughout the lyrics. The artists make it clear that they will not hesitate to react aggressively if someone tries to harm them. They have a deep understanding of the street life and its harsh realities. The references to guns, bullet wounds, AKs, and the willingness to "let it off" emphasize the danger and intensity of their world.
The lyrics also touch on the importance of loyalty and trust. The artists express disappointment in their own brothers and treat them like just another person. They have become hardened by their experiences and are wary of those around them, even people they once considered family. The song suggests that in this environment, one must always be on guard and ready to defend themselves.
Overall, "Niggas Be Scheming" presents a dark and gritty portrayal of the artists' reality, highlighting the constant threat of betrayal and violence that they face.
