I lost my first born son shortly after his 18th birthday. He was a victim of a shooting. The pain never really leaves, but it's replaced with a lasting ache that just stays beneath the surface, even after all these years. This piece reminds me of his gift of poetry, which I still have in my possession. Your music touches my soul, when I thought nothing much could anymore.

We lost our "Elin" at age 16 months to SIDS circa1976. That was the only explanation the medical examiner could give us. Elin's older sister [Jill] was age 4 at the time. Jill now plays piano with her husband's praise team. Jill is a piano instructor and home schooled all three of her children. Jill named her middle child "Elin" as did two other mothers in our circle of friends. All three of our grandchildren had a remarkable resemblance of "Elin" right through their 2nd birthday. I have shared one common hope with other parents who have lost a child. That is, our Heavenly Father sacrificed His Son and God knows how we feel.
