While there are elements of truth here, this is too simplistic. And make no mistake, marriage is a BIG DEAL for God and not something to over simplify. God also hates divorce!!

So we have a responsibility to seek God on this matter, to fast and pray even, to MAKE SURE we are going to marry the right woman (and the same for the woman seeking a husband).

MAKE SURE that God has brought you together and certainly for born again Christians, you HAVE TO marry a born again/saved Christian. Dating and marrying an unbeliever is not biblical and should never happen.

Marriage is a very big deal in God’s eyes. Don’t rush in. Make sure that he/she is the one God has for you.

In those 18 long years I made a lot of mistakes with women, and it wasn't until I completely gave up on ever getting married and devoted my entire life to Christ that I finally met my wife. I think it's because I come across more spiritual opposition (ie the lgbtq+, anti-Christians, etc) type of people I have to deal with as part of work (though I try to get in a word or two about Christ, one easy way folks is use "bless you" instead "have a good one" for example). I think this why faith gives us peace and strength, we're already about a higher purpose.

@@M4rcLL In your case what would you do if a particular christian woman seems to be a very good devoted christian but there are some potential problems: You have significant differences in theological convictions with her. Let's imagine for example she's a cessacionist but you disagree with that theology. Or she's a calvinist but you completely disagree with calvinist theology.
Sometimes the woman you see as a possible suitable wife might have other type of differences ( in other aspects or fields ) with you as well. For example let's imagine you like biking or you like swimming ( for taking care of your body for health reasons. You know christians should take care of their body because it's the Holy Spirit's temple ) but she doesn't.
Or another example: you like socializing much with other christians but she's antisocial ( even toward christian people )
One more example: she likes working with children ( in terms of teaching children the word of God, the Lord's way, etc ) but you like something different: teaching theology to adult christian people.
Maybe you'd better talk about it with her before you even commit to her in order to see if you are compatible with her or not ( because sometimes a woman might not be compatible with you even if she's a true christian ) and if there is any mutual agreement on how to handle the differences you have with her.

As an engaged young man who is Christian, this is solid Godly advice and I couldn’t agree more. Anyone who reads this, as a person who is soon to be married, trust me, this is great biblical wisdom to follow. One thing to note, however, is not to get this confused. I personally do not believe that there is only one correct woman in the world for a man. I believe God gives us as men the liberty to pursue who we like so long as they are a natural born female who is Godly, we are both equally yoked, and we are both pursuing only one individual. You have the liberty to marry anyone within these standards unless God of course tells you specifically that a certain female is not the one. These 5 pieces of advice do an excellent job of digging deeper into what it means to be with a biblically sound “godly woman”.

I very much appreciate this one, especially simplifying point number 2 about her accepting my pursuit as a good indicator. It makes me wonder now about one of my past relationships from years ago where points 1 and 2 were seen together and also a general but not specific understanding of point 3 on my part as a man. I wasn’t ready yet to take on the role or responsibilities of a husband in college because I didn’t have the proper relationship with God or understanding of Scripture for marriage at the time. There's not a "one size fits all" answer for this, my guy. But the quickest way to find the answer is to simply ask her if she's still interested. If her answer is no, accept it and move on. Trust me, you'll be better off getting closure than pining over her endlessly in hopes that a Rom Com ending will happen.

You know, I had a girl from college I really liked, and continued to like for several years afterward. I finally bit the bullet and asked her (5 years after college). She said no, and while it hurt (and took some time to get over her), I'm glad I did. Because now I can focus on women right in front of me.

It’s just in my case I know God put us together from the start when we exchange testimonies on how we both chose my college I graduated from realizing the Spirit led us towards each other, and we had a deep unexplainable connection and intimate relationship going on from when we first met to the end. We were separated when she transferred out to a different college after we both agreed that she it was the better choice for her. We both really wanted to continue the relationship because it was biblical and what we really wanted in a partner. However, I truly cared about her happiness and growth by encouraging her to not simply do something her parents forced her to do and study the bioengineering major she realized she enjoyed after meeting and talking to me. I would say that the time apart really helped me to grow and understand marriage and Scripture a lot better than had we continued then. Since then, I kept my mind open and took opportunities I could get, and most of the time got flat out rejected or led on. I never had anything else that deep and intimate since that college relationship over 9 year ago which is telling me something about my relationship troubles.

Try being homeschooled, living a half mile from the closest neighbors, and attending a church with maybe 50 attendees on a normal Sunday morning.
All I knew was what I heard preached, or taught in Sunday school, and family-friendly classic movies and a limited amount of Christian radio drama.
I started praying about age 12 for the woman God had waiting for me - and never learned/realized how to seek her out, or "flirt" with her.
After a couple failed attempts at a serious long term relationship, many attempts to get a relationship going, and one years-long not quite sure what it was because we seemed a couple but then maybe acquaintances?- I finally decided I would learn to be a "charmer" and be open to a good Godly woman, but try to accept that I was likely alone for the rest of my life too.

getting remarried is not an unpardonable sin. the only unpardonable sin is denying the Holy Spirit, or rejecting God.. As far as the sin part, if you divorce your spouse for any reason (and that includes abuse btw) other than infidelity, then you commit adultry by being with another person. If you're abused, then you should remain single because you're still married to the other person in God's view. Now if your spouse moves on with another person then you are free then to remarry. You are also free to remarry if your former spouse was a non--christian as paul explains this in corthinians.

So the societal view on marriage is only useful to learn how specifically we ought to live differently and which pitfalls might wait for us if we don't pay any attention.
