A Traitor Like Judas have come a long way since their origin almost 10 years ago. Being one of the European lighthouses when metalcore emerged as the next big thing, the band later on almost disbanded over their agonizing line-up changes. However the “band-soul” composed of an infinite passion for playing heavy music, a nonbreakable will to play as many shows as possible and a deeply rooted friendship between the band members remained untouched through all these years.
A Traitor Like Judas’ major “restart” in 2010 is marked by one single, unifying cause: to create the most intense and powerful metal- and hardcore album of their career and that is exactly what ‘Endtimes’ (Swell Creek / Acuity.Music) became. Within only a couple of weeks the band was flooded with show offers, frenetic fan response and consistently positive press feedback. A Traitor Like Judas also played more than 30 intense shows within the 4 months after the album release date, reclaiming Europe’s stages, returning to where they belong, entraining old fans and new ones.
To tie in with their regained success A Traitor Like Judas teamed up with their longtime friends and labelmates Maintain to create one of the hottest and enthralling split-releases in 2011: ‘Lifetimes’. This full length release is a veritable masterpiece of metal/core hymns - incredibly heavy with an intoxicating hardcore spirit, magnificent technical finery and fraught with absolutely uncheesy melody. All slickly produced by the hands of metal-mastermind Kristian Kohlmannslehner at Kohlekeller Studios. ‘Lifetimes’ simply became an album that must be heard.
A Traitor Like Judas could not be more present as they are right now. There is no chance or reason to avoid this band, just join them on their mission. These are their lifetimes, so let’s go!

Unsung
A Traitor Like Judas Lyrics

Salvation lies just feet below the sand
And for all this, you'd break the world in two, with idol hands
I have walked this coast
I have paced this light
I have felt the waves
There is nothing left in you
A grasping hand, a weary muse
If we ever overcome
Your victories will go unsung
I know that your composure fails
When the mirror says your name
For the things that you have done
I hope forgiveness keeps you safe
Salvation lies just feet below the sand
And for all this, you'd break the world in two, with idol hands
I have walked this coast
I have paced this light
I have felt the waves
Ruins of the night
There is nothing left in you
A grasping hand, a weary muse
If we ever overcome
Your victories will go unsung
You will be the first among the wreck
Lifetime of promises unkept
You've burnt your bridges in the cold
And cut your strings with firm resolve
If we ever walk away
Your victories will be erased
The lyrics to "Unsung" by A Traitor Like Judas examines the idea of a person who is willing to destroy everything in order to achieve success, but despite their efforts, their accomplishments will ultimately go unnoticed and unrecognized. The lyrics start off with a sense of hope, with the lines "New dawn brings hope, salvation lies just feet below the sand," but this optimism quickly turns to despair as the singer realizes the lengths this person will go to accomplish their goals, even if it means tearing everything apart "with idle hands."
The lyrics continue to describe the singer's experiences walking along the coast and witnessing the ruins of the night, perhaps a metaphor for the aftermath of this person's destructive actions. Despite all of this devastation, the singer recognizes that there is "nothing left" in this person, who is now a "grasping hand" and a "weary muse." However, even though this person's victories will go unsung, the singer hopes that they will find forgiveness and safety in their future.
Overall, "Unsung" is a cautionary tale about the dangers of blindly pursuing success at any cost, and the consequences that follow when people lose sight of their morals and values.
