Just an added note about Lionel Richie. I liked his music in the 80's but did not know anything about his personality. Watching the way he spoke to the performer before the presentation and the way he reacted to the performance, he showed me his deep connection to humanity and the world of emotions. Richie is the real deal and as such has been elevated in my book of performers with a soul.

When I first watched this audition, I had no idea that a few weeks later I would be playing it over and over again in grief, I had no idea that just a few weeks later, introducing him to my fiancé and him saying he's proud of me would be the last time I saw my father, as his sudden death was three days later. I lost mine a few years back, and I can tell you that losing a parent really hurts, no matter the relationship you must have had with them. When my father passed, the first year was very hard - i would look into people’s eyes (even strangers) and start to cry, I felt so fragile! Now I m stronger, but it still hurts when I see something he would have loved to see!

30,000 locals are moving from Hawaii each year. My 3 grand children moved to Vegas for a better life for them and their children. Local people that don't already have a house in Hawaii, can't afford to buy one now that starts at over half a million dollars on a zero lot(which means 10 feet between you and your neighbor with very little front and back yard. YES, priced out of paradise.

I lost my father for covid and he was my hero, my IDOL and when I watch this it's almost like I'm talking with him, like he is here with me watching and trying to say something. 26 year old dude here. Lost my dad to terminal cancer when I was 19. Everything about Iam's demeanor and performance reminds me of myself shorty after my dad left and I couldn't stop crying after watching this.
