It started in 2000 as a Radio series on BBC Radio 4, with the fourth and final series (to date) broadcast in 2004. A six part television series ran on BBC Two, towards the end of 2003; the second six-episode television series ran on BBC2 on Thursdays at 10 p.m. from 21st July - 25th August 2005. A one-off radio episode was broadcast on 3rd November 2006.
Its name is taken from a quote by the historian Lord Acton that "power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Being OP is hard, but the main tactics are simple. They just require time and patience. Like Evil Eye + Tannerkivi is doable for digging awkward digging. You just have to find one of the many tools to get around to them. Polymorphine or Teleportatium are finicky but will get you past the cliff with a little work. Teleportatium for the tree. Polymorphine can let you get in and out of Holy Mountains without triggering anything. You can edit those wands. Pheromone lets you farm gold. Execution of these tactics is hard to do first try, but they are often alternatives to the obvious tactics. Like teleport spells, luminous drills, or black holes plus greek letters.

But an OP run can start with something as simple as long distance cast + short teleport. I had this on the first holy mountain and that was all I needed to gather spells and wands.
